The army has a contract with this company to house soldiers for a year. But we also sign leases with this company about our apartments before we move in. They broke the lease without asking me and threw me into another apartment that was not good. The apartment smells like weed, and they have done nothing to get me to the apartment I actually have a lease too or to make the smell go away. On top of that, they have put multiple of the soldiers into handicap apartments instead of normal apartments.Customer response

BBB,
As of today they are saying they are going to get me a new apartment but I haven't gotten the date* yet. I will definitely let you guys know if or when this happens. Supposedly they are working at it, so hoping it will get fixed sooner rather than later. Thank you so much for your time.

On June 15, 2021 I reached out to the company seeking one-bedroom apartments in Chicago. On June 16th, 2021 I was quoted for a one-bedroom apartment. A lease was signed based on this information. A week before move-in (November 8, 2021) the room type was listed as "convertible". When brought to their attention I was told "We consider a convertible to be a one bedroom as there is a patrician between the bedroom and the living area." The building I was renting from (Randolph Towers, Chicago, IL) makes a distinction between studios, convertibles, and one-bedrooms. As does National in their own paperwork by later listing it as a convertible. When I got to the unit, there was a partition that obscured half of the bed and did not reach the ceiling. I travel for a living and have been in over a hundred short-term housing situations. In none of them would this be considered a one bedroom. They offered a true one-bedroom but it was a 20 minute walk from work, which is untenable in Chicago in January with an incredibly busy schedule. On a call with Anne, when I brought up the possibility of driving to the new building I was told I would have to pay for two parking garages. In writing, I made it clear that because the lease was not fulfilled in good faith that I wanted the lease nullified and a pro-rated refund for what I had already paid. The company has since ghosted me and there has been no further communication from them.Customer response
