Hi.I just spoke on the phone today at approx **** on 8/10/23 (on recorded line) with an agent, as well as supervisor (both female). I called them to today to settle a medical bill. the bill was 1819$ for ONE MRI, which was "decreased" by my insurance from like 6,000$ roughly. the amount of the original bill was outrageous to begin with. I offered them to pay a lump sum to settle the debt, if they could provide me a discount that was reasonable. they told me that ******** *******, ******, ** doesn't settle any debts. which I believe to be untrue. my MRI was in 1/2023. My bill was due to be paid by 6/2023 and it was sent to collections by August. when BC services told me I could not settle, I agreed to do a payment plan. I attempted to set up a payment plan of 5$ per month. the supervisor refused and said that the lowest she can accept is 100$/month. I asked her if everyone gets the same treatment and she said "it depends on the amount." it is wrong for them to refuse my offer of a payment plan and wrong of her to attempt to withhold information. this is medical and cannot be sent to your credit if you are at least making some payments. with this knowledge, the woman supervisor refused my payment plan. this same woman was also REFUSING to tell me the protocols saying "I will not respond to that" presumably because she wants my credit to be hurt by a medical bill. the first woman I spoke with from BC did however tell me that as long as I am on a payment plan/making payments, that my credit should not be affected. it is wrong to be punished for trying to make a payment plan/being rejected. I told her that instead I will pay MGB monthly since MGB told me that they are "connected" with BC services and BC will be able to see all my payments and therefore not be able to proceed to affecting my credit score. I have made a payment directly to *** and will continue that. I also requested itemized bill from *** to confer with my insurance company. not happy with this company.

We received your complaint through the Better Business Bureau and we appreciate the opportunity to respond. Your main concerns relate to credit reporting, denial of settlement and denial of your offer to pay $5.00 each month. This response is to confirm to you that we are not reporting the accounts to the credit bureau and we have marked these accounts to not report. You inquired about settling the balance, however you made no settlement offer in your communications. Instead you ask us what we can settle for. We have full settlement authority for the balances placed with our office, however without an offer from you there is no way we can begin the settlement process. If you can provide us with a settlement amount we would be happy to look into that. Lastly, your offer to pay $5.00 each month would result in a payment plan for 29 years. We reject that payment plan without substantive financial information that would support such a lengthy plan.  We welcome you to contact us to set up an arrangement that works for you.

You also requested that we cease further communication with you and accordingly we marked your phone number not to call and we will cease communication. If you have any questions at any time we welcome you to contact our office at ************.

This company sent a police officer to serve us a court summons for a medical debt, incurred by a child from a ******************* after I had contacted them multiple times regarding the situation at hand. I've filed a complaint with the Attorney General regarding them and *******************. Unethical practices. They are getting over 10 thousand dollars from me now, and still told me they are charging me for the summons. I hope they find peace with themselves, it must be completely draining to *** families with medical debt, especially from a Children's hospital.

The company is a scam. But however your company is trying to garnish my wages for a bill I paid off through insurance 5 years ago. Now they are trying to take me for almost **** dollars and it is complete ********. When I asked your associate where they served me they stated a company I havent worked for in 4 years....... I asked them why am I just now being garnished 5 years later if I was served then. They stated we just now found out where you worked. You are telling me that with ALL the records out there it has taken years to get my records of employment. WRONG. I have already advised my Uncle who is a lawyer and we will be perusing legal action against your company.

We are mailing you the unredacted copy of our response.

We received your review submitted through the Better Business Bureau and we appreciate the opportunity to respond. The XXXXXX listed their account on March 24, 2016 and we mailed our first notice to you on March 25, 2016. That notice was mailed to you at your address of XXXXXX . Two years later XXXXXX listed two additional accounts. The first account was listed on April 26, 2018 and we mailed our first notice on April 27, 2018. The second XXXX account was listed on May 16, 2018 and we mailed our first notice to you on May 17, 2018. These notices were mailed to your address of XXXXXXX.
We also attempted to reach you by phone on March 29 and 31,2016, as well as April 14, 2016,  we left messages but did not receive a call back. We sent additional letters to you on June 20, 2018 and June 29,2018.  Our attorney mailed a letter to you on October 31, 2018 advising you that you had not made satisfactory arrangements for payment and that the account was being reviewed for legal action. You did not respond to any of those attempts to reach you.
The summons and complaint for the lawsuit was served to your employer on November 27, 2018. In light of your allegations we have researched and we are confident that you were employed by XXXXX when the suit was served. Service upon the HR representative XXXXX was effective service pursuant to the ******** Rules of Civil Procedure.  Judgment was granted by the court on January 16, 2019. We mailed another letter to you on January 21, 2019 advising you that a judgment was entered and that we would be pursuing post-judgment collection efforts. We also attempted to reach you by phone on January 24, 2019. Up to this point our efforts to communicate with you went unanswered.
You finally called our office on March 10, 2021. During that call we discussed the judgment in detail with you and you understood that we intended to continue our collection efforts. You indicated that you would research the matter with your insurance.
After the conversation on March 10, 2021 we again did not hear from you. We mailed two additional letters to you on June 9, 2021 and June 17, 2021. We also attempted to reach you by phone on June 16, 2022, September 29, 2022, March 30, 2023, and April 18, 2023. For some of these calls you answered and confirmed it was you, but then once you learned it was ** calling you hung up.
When you called in this past Wednesday May 10th you alleged that we were violating various laws in pursuit of collecting these bills. Generally, it is our position that HIPPA expressly provides that your medical records and information are to be shared with ** for the purposes of effecting payment for those services. Similarly state law mandates that we have access to those records when we *** you. You also allege that the suit is invalid because you did not sign anything for the process server, nor did the process server hand the papers to you personally. This is incorrect and service of process was made in accordance with clear ******** law.
Finally, you allege that your uncle is a lawyer and that you are pursuing legal action against BC Services. Please have your uncle contact our General Counsel at ************ or, provide his name and contact information and I will reach out to him. In any event we will waive service of any process, which should be directed to my attention.

I was left a message with no information as to why they were calling me and for what purpose at least other companies will tell you who they are calling on behalf of and this one didn't, so I have no idea if this is legit or a scam, as I had someone call me in the not too distant past telling me I have an outstanding credit card debt and threatened legal action and report it to my credit which was a lie so I don't know what this company wants or if they are even legit.

After submitting the customer review, you contacted our office and spoke with a representative advising that you moved. After moving you found the bill and would submit payment once you receive verification of the account. We will request the documents and mail to you upon receiving the information from our client. Please be advised that the communication you received regarding the credit card bill is not a communication from our office and therefore we are unable to provide any comment or information on that matter.

Extraordinarily (comically) shady company. They called me at work and upon answering refused to identify themselves or why they were calling, and instead demanded my personal information (DOB, address, SSN#) as soon as I confirmed I was the person they were trying to reach, so that they could "verify" my identify. Assuming it was a telemarketer at best or a scammer at worst, I obviously refused. I clearly stated that I was absolutely not going to give out any personal information whatsoever until they identified themselves - after some back and forth of this they said they were "collections" and that they'd meet me "halfway" and asked just for the last 4 of my SSN or my DOB. I again refused, saying I had no outstanding debts and had no idea what this was about. The representative said they couldn't give out any information at all due to privacy concerns and said they'd contact me by mail. (I never received any followup mail). This is predatory harassment and anyone who actually responds to their "demands" for personal information are unfortunately people who likely have fallen/will fall prey to any number of phone scams. I WAS able to track down the purported "debt" - it was related to medical services from months and months prior, 99% of which I had paid in full via my online statements, and had absolutely no idea there was a lingering non-included service charge that wasn't accessible via the hospital network's online billing system, and that had been sent to an old address (not the one my insurance company had on file!). Complaints about BC Services have been made to the medical service provider's billing office, and I will submit complaints about both BC Services and the medical billing office's practices both here and to consumer protection services.

ZERO STARS!!!!! (wouldn't let it post without clicking 1)This company called my daughter requesting personal information about my grandson who is 13 years old. Wouldn't tell her who the company was, why they needed the information, just kept saying over and over that they needed the information. When she told them to send a mailed request the man got rude on the other end of the line.In NO WAY shape or form will we EVER give out personal information to random callers.Completely unacceptable and we will continue to report and review this harassments if it continues.
