We purchased a vehicle from saybrook auto barn September 2023. Second day owning it, the radio and interior lights were broken. Brought it in for service and was told it was being repaired. Was told by the service manager it was getting a radio. Picked it up and brought it back when the parts came in. They told us they replaced the radio and it was all set. Soon after the steering assist was disabled and temperature gauge was inoperative. Brought back to saybrook auto and was told they couldn’t duplicate the concern even though they had pictures and videos of the concern happening. We pick up the car and steering assist disables while driving and radio broken still. Call them and tell them. We bring it back they fix the steering issue but radio still broken. Car was supposed to be 100%, and had a warranty and they are trying to get away with not fixing the radio. They cancelled my last two appointments for service with no notice. I would have drove an hour one way to find out they were canceling had I not called. They were never planning to call and cancel.Initial Complaint

On 7/12/2023 we purchased a vehicle with a warranty for a total of $25,652.02. After reading over the warranty paperwork, we realized it was not worth it for our vehicle and so we signed a new buyer’s order at the dealership on 7/13/2023 for a corrected amount, which was just the value of the vehicle with no warranty for $21,259.48. Unfortunately, our bank had already dispersed the initial amount of $25,652.02 to the dealership before the change was made. We, myself and the bank, have been calling the dealership since the 7/24/2023 to have them refund the money that was overpaid. The dealership has been cleaning since then that they have sent the check out in the mail. Initially, they told the bank over the phone that they “sent out the check a few days ago” on 7/26/2023. Then, I have email documentation stating that the check was sent out on 8/1/2023. I called him back today, and the check is now apparently in the hands of a woman who works there named Brenda who “should be sending it out today or tomorrow, but is having trouble printing out the USPS, postage to mail it”. We are doubtful that the check for the amount they were overpaid for the car will be in the hands of our bank without any official complaints being made against their company. In addition to these false claims, they also falsely claimed that the vehicle did not have anything wrong with it, because, despite somehow, passing emissions, it left the parking lot and not even 50 miles down the road the check engine light came on. Additionally, they claimed they did a full oil change, but told us they put SAE 5-W-30 in it (this is a diesel vehicle, it does not take this oil!) when we did our own oil change, we realized how absolutely disgusting the oil was, and that they had not in fact done any work to the vehicle. They also never put the air intake hose back on, so God only knows what type of long-term damage that mistake has done to our vehicle.
