I am filing this complaint against Pepco-FCU because my spouse was a credit union member and had bank accounts totaling $11,428.09 when he died 12/6/2021. I notified the Pepco-FCU by telephone 12/28/2021 and by mail on 1/21/2022 of my husband’s death. December 28, 2021, I spoke with Branch Manager Sergout W***** and asked for guidance for what needed to done to close his bank accounts. Mr. W***** said originals of a Letter of Administration and a death certificate which I submitted with my letter dated 1/21/2022. I further informed Mr. W***** that my husband passed without any assets of value or money in his estate. Without notice to me as the Personal Representative or without filing a claim with the P.G. Co. Register of Wills against my husband's estate, Pepco-FCU mailed me a check for $907.47 payable to my husband’s estate. The check was returned uncashed noting the violation of the MD Estate and Trust Laws governing Pepco-FCU accounts that were the lawful assets of my husband's estate. The $907.47 was the balance after Pepco-FCU unlawfully paid a Pepco-FCU Visa credit card debt. The MD Estate and Trusts laws that Pepco-FCU violated are listed: (1.) Failure of a creditor to file a claim against the estate prior to taking estate assets, MD Estates and Trusts Article, 5-603 (b); 7-103 (b); (2.) Interference in Personal Representative’s fiduciary duties to marshal estate assets, MD Estates and Trusts Article, 7-102 (a), (b); (3.) Interference in Personal Representative’s fiduciary duties to distribute estate assets to heirs of the estate; Estates and Trusts Article 3-201, 5-603; 8-105; (4.) Interference in Personal Representative’s fiduciary duties to pay valid debts of claimants against the estate per intestacy priority of estate debt payments, MD Estates and Trusts Article 5-603, 8-105; and (5.) Taking, without authority, estate assets by a lower priority creditor, MD Estates and Trusts Article 5-603, 8-105.As of this complaint filing, Pepco-FCU has not responded.Initial Complaint

My account # is *************. My bill has gone up 200 per cent in one month. I called customer service and asked for an investigation of my bill . The agent turned the call over to the credit department and that person said someone would call me about my bill . That was Thursday of last week and no call yet. Something fishy is going on because they are predicting how much my bill will be before I use any electricity. I have solar panels and have not paid electricity in 6 months. Now my bill is $198 and predicted to be $160 next month. This increase is completely out of line.
