The worst experience I have ever had with a company. They took 6 months to repair ONE window pane. I was told it would be done in December, and after over 20 emails and phone calls from 3 different people, and missed appointments, several promises week to week that failed to show, they finally came in May and then had the audacity to ask for payment upon completion. Then began emailing and calling every couple days to collect. After I shared my thoughts and experience, instead of any apology, again all I got was excuses and attitude. They charged me $450 to fix one small piece of glass in a bedroom window AND didn't repair the tabs that were broken on the window to begin with which was the sole intent of the original breakage and why we called them.

4/5/17 front door installed with 5 year warranty for finish. Started complaining to Abby Doors (mfgr.) in Nov. 2019 approx. They did not come out to look at bubbles and paint leaving surface until about 1-1/2 years. They then painted with rustoleum, and within days, it happened again. They said they would come out again (covid). Stood up one time, then finally made it. Again within days, it happened. They gave us a rustoleum kit, which we would not use, because that would not be the way to repair these expensive doors. Cost $14,750.00. Sunshine was sales and installation. Abby mfgr. I have been in contact with both numerous times (have all emails). Last time, Abby said they would take doors back - Sunshine said impossible. Abby painter told us "mfg. defect". Abby denied. Abby told us that doors are not made for humid weather, like Fl. I told Sunshine, they said, not true, they install all the time, and I see many people with similar doors. Our doors sit under covered front entry, so no direct weather on them. 5 pages following with contact info.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/12/13) */ We understand there was an issue with the warranty on the finish of the door. We chose Abbey Door because of the warranty they offered on their door. Mr. & Mrs. ****** were also involved in choosing Abbey Door for their new door along with us. We have attached a copy of the warranty that Abbey Door provided us before we made the purchase. We have installed a few other iron doors for customers with no issues. We have the documentation of our communications with Abbey Door as well as with Mr. & Mrs. ****** available upon request. Our contract agreement with Mr. & Mrs. ****** was to install the new door and dispose of the old door and shutters. We clean up and dispose of debris. After the fact, Mrs. ****** decided she wanted her old door back. However, it was already disposed of. We requested that Abbey Door provide us with a new door that is free from defects and we would install the new door and return the defective door to Abbey. Abbey Door denied our request. We have been strung along the past 2 years by Abbey Door due to Covid and now they stated that this is it on their warranty. We feel that Abbey Door should stand by their stated warranty to make the customer happy. We have been and are willing to get this corrected for the ******'s. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/12/29) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I don't know why they said we asked them to dispose of our old leaded glass front door and shutters on this reply. One day after they disappeared, we called and wrote them, wanting them back (one day). They called these items debris. To us, debris, is trash, not doors and shutters. I even put in complaint with credit card, but they reversed. FYI, the front doors cost me about $4500 and shutters about $1500 and they just took them and kept them (I have receipts). The doors were going to my son for his front door (two-double doors). Next, re the paint job, I have gotten every excuse from Abbey Doors - came out twice - first time, days after, they bubbled up again. I realize it is a mfg. warranty, but the contract is with Sunshine and it is up to them to make good on these. I believe they ruined the doors with rustoleum paint. They should have a lasting finish on them. All my complaints were well within five years. I am unsatisfied. See original complaint. Business Response /* (4000, 12, 2022/01/12) */ ***Document Attached*** In regard to the comment that Mrs. ****** "does not know why we dispose of the debris" It is clearly stated in all of our contracts that all debris (ie; old windows, doors & shutters) will be hauled away. Please see attached copy of our contract agreement with Mr. & Mrs. ******. There was no other discussion until three weeks after the job was completed. We do not keep debris from projects. We dispose of it as per county regulations. When customers upgrade their entry ways, shutters and windows it is due to them being outdated and non-compliant with current building codes and regulations. Regarding the warranty on the finish of the doors, we continue to agree that Abbey Door is ultimately responsible for the failure in upholding their stated warranty on the doors. We are willing to work with Mr. & Mrs. ****** on a reasonable solution. Consumer Response /* (4200, 14, 2022/01/13) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I still do not consider $4500 doors debris, or shutters - where I showed them the receipt. In my records, I called immediately when I found out they were taken from my garage. No, these items are not debris. Debris is construction materials that they create when doing work on a jobsite. I would like my finish corrected. We contracted with them and are getting no where with Abbey Doors - only lies: i.e., these doors cannot tolerate humidity, they were factory defects, then they said they never told us that, etc. We would like this resolved. Again, I was badly burnt on the first issue, and they know that the description of debris does not mean existing homeowner's property - only the debris that they created, but that issue is mute. I gave up, angrily, a long time ago on that. I just feel bad for people who get work done from them when they describe anything on the homeowner's property as debris. They should be cautious.
