This is my issue the home that I signed the contract for was in 2016 and I received my home in May of 2017 my home plan was for 7 years and we I contacted the warranty department they informed me that my warranty actually started in 2016 the date I signed the contract. I informed them that I didn't receive the home until May 2017 since it had to be built. So I asked how can my warranty be in effect when I didn't have the home. So the home plan office is telling me that the selling company would have to be the ones to amend that information since they were the seller and the agency that provided them with the information. BL: I should not have been or be penalized those months on the plan when I didn't have the house. My current plan actually ends this year November 2023 ( believe) however, I feel it should have started in April or May of 2017. and actually end Apr/May 2024. I have emailed the selling company twice only to receive a response by sending me the information for the warranty telling me how much it cost to obtain a plan. I feel the seller knew that and should have provided a clause or some type of statement indicating the effective date for the plan to start. Because of the changes I made the home had to be actually built. I feel that when that happens the seller(s) have to be aware that the perspective homeowner does not and will not have possession of the home at the time of the title signing. At the time I bought the name of the business was called Affordable Home of Crestview.Business response

Affordable Homes is a retail manufactured home dealership, not a warranty company. The extended warranty comes from a third party company and per contract, Affordable Homes makes no guarantees of exact move-in date or the exact date of the home delivery. All extended warranty applications are based off the closing date of the contract, not the date the customer FEELS like it should apply. Again, Affordable Homes is just a retailer and does not perform any warranty work. Contract date is the only date that is guaranteed, therefore all lending, warranties, and production will go from contract date.

I am rejecting this response because: (1) This is not what I feel it's what should be. (2) Believe you if that was explained from the start then we would not be here at this moment. BL: Your sellers need to do a better job of explaining all aspects of the contract. Your response insinuated a personal tone. Better CS to your past clients would be appreciated. A simple response without all the add in would have been sufficient.
Sincerely,
