All American Specialty installed a new fireplace system and glass doors in my home July 9, 2021. The total cost was $6000.00. The initial city inspection was completed 7/12/2021. After the installation, the company stated there was a delay in receiving the correct glass doors, thus they came back 1 week later to install them. The installer applied mortar/concreate to seal the fireplace to the chimney but advised me it would need time to dry before the excess concrete mix could be cleaned off. They asked me to do this myself later. This alone is completely unprofessional. I left it as it. Within six months, the mortar he installed fell from the chimney and broke. This left sharp pieces of concrete that could have hurt me child. In addition, it left an open gap between the fireplace and chimney. I called the company 12pm on 4/15/2022 and left a message explaining the issue and requested for correction. They never returned my call. Today, 8/5/2022, a city inspector arrived informing me the city just received notice of the completed job and needed to inspect the chimney. I informed them the job was completed in 2021. He stated the company never informed them until now. The inspector also informed me he cannot incomplete the inspection because the opening in my vinyl siding from where they initially installed the fireplace is, of course, now closed. This means they have never officially closed the permit they filed on my home, which is a risk. This also puts me at risk if there is a fire. This is completely negligent. To remedy this error, I would like All American to schedule the inspection properly and have the vinyl removed for the work to be completed and then properly place it back. In addition, they need to correct the issue with the mortar/concrete on the inside of the home.
