American Blinds and Shutters installed blinds in my moms home in April. They had to come back because the rod at the sliding glass door was damaged . They replaced the rod and it is still defective. I called and was told by the owner that she doesnt know how to properly use the blinds and that she has a chair in front of them. My mother has had blinds in her home for 26 years and they just started to deteriorate. They other blinds are okay but the blinds at the sliding door keeps hitting the rail which wont allow them to properly close. We were told by **** that we had to pay $190 to replace. However, there is a manufacturers warranty that wasnt used. They have not contacted us with a solution so we called another company to fix their mess. My mother is 83 years old and does not have money to throw away. Please assist in getting her money returned.Business response

The Vertical Blind track in question was not damaged or defective. It was broken twice because of operator error. The 83 year old client was not opening the verticals as instructed and stripped the carries twice. We replaced the track twice FOR FREE. The third time it happened we offered to fix it again for $190.
***************** agreed to pay the service call charge. Thats when the daughter got involved (she was living in ************ at the time). The daughter demanded that we replace it a third time for free. We refused since it was NOT defective merchandise - it was broken because the slats need to be turned perpendicular to the glass door first and then drawn to the side. She (the mother) was just drawing them open before turning the slats open , breaking the carriers. Ive been manufacturing verticals for 35 years. I know my product. Ive seen this issue before. 99.9% of customers understand how to operate them - With No issues.
