This clinic is horrible. My sister was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver in ******* ** where we live, and heard that this clinic was the best out there for a liver transplant, so we flew to ******* and she started the 2 weeks of testing to see which program would be the best for her to do. After 4 days of testing she had a counseling appointment and they ask her if she had the covid shot which she had not, so the Dr tells her that they won't treat her unless she gets it. WTH! Now no where in any kind of paper work or on the website does it tell you this and all the different appointments for 4 days not one person mentioned anything about it. These people don't give a **** about anyone, it's all about the money. Why on earth would you want someone to take that shot when their liver is this bad, and now knowing what we do about it? They should have to pay us back for all the money she was out for the plane tickets for both of us and the rent car and the hotel and every ***** we spent taking this trip. It should be against the law for them not to tell people before they do all of this that you must have that deadly shot before they will treat you. It's just unbelievable that they would force this on you. What is wrong with people. They are truly evil.

My daughter has received excellent care. However, one of the tests was denied by our insurance and Mayo Clinic did not do a pre-authorization for the test as is customary before a test is done. The financial services department said it was not required and not their responsibility. I am in the process of seeking an appeal from my insurance company, but they have already turned us over to a collection agency. When I called the financial services department to let them know that I'm waiting on the appeal, **** told me "there is nothing that can be done" and it is always the patient's responsibility to check with insurance. Maybe that is the case, but this is the first hospital that has not pre-authorized tests. Sadly, I expected better from Mayo Clinic.

I had 3 shoulder replacements, the first 2 were regular replacements, the third had to be done because I could not use my right arm, it was like a dead fish was attached to it. I then had another surgery which was a replacement, but a reversal. My right arm still gives some problems, I can not reach up to put dishes away, its hard to cut meat, and sometimes write depending on the height of the table, etc. I then had to have both knee replacements done. The left was July 2021. Everything was good. My account showed everything was paid and I had a 0 balance. I then had my right done. My knees are good, no problems. I paid the bills they sent, but Then I started getting other bills and my account was paid. The bills were from July 2021, the first knee replacement. Back and forth between, Mayo billing. I did not realize these bills were from July. They did not specifically tell me that. When I found out I was back and forth between ***** ********* for months. Without warning, I was sent to the collection agency. I paid one bill, after their billing **** misled me. The other one was for the Computer assisted musculoskeletal surgical navigational orthopedic procedure. They did not get approval after I asked if everything was approved before I went forward with anything. It is considered experimental and not covered. I was assured that it was. Now I was back and forth between ***** collection agency. I finally offered to pay half or I would pay 25 a month till paid, and the collection agency was suppose to fill out some form according to them and send to ***** nothing! I finally wrote letters to all the Mayo Clinics, ***************************, **************************************************, ***********************, *************************, *********************** (**** in Jax) and the collection agency. A lady named ***** from *********, ** called. When I returned the call I spoke with ****, they settled for half as I offered previously just to get it taken care of. Their communication is lacking for specifics!!

I had a penile implant prosthetic device installed 5 years ago in ****************** at Mayo. ********************** indicated that life span of this device was 10 - 15 years. In 5 years it failed. I contacted the hospital to repair. I was referred to the scheduling department. They told me they would get back in a couple days. I called them after a couple of days, and told me that they refuse any further treatment. When I asked why , they said they do not have any further information. I am V/very frustrated with this hospital and would never recommend it to anybody. There is no guarantee that they will perform corrective surgery in the future. I have found a smaller local urology practice. Be skeptical of any operation they perform as there is no guarantee that they will see you in the future. They are very selective on who they see and will offer no explanation of why they declined. My word was performed by ********************** and team.
