I was with Kemper insurance for my homeowners insurance and my auto insurance for the policy. From September 9th 2022 to September 9th 2023. The policies were bundled. Around mid July of 2023 I received a notice from Kemper saying they were not renewing my homeowners insurance. A couple weeks after receiving that I received my new policy for my auto insurance from Kemper, it did go up a little bit from the prior year for the auto insurance. On September 7th of 2023 I went online and paid the auto insurance in full of $1,207.52, it was due on September 9th. On September 13th I received three letters from Kemper in the mail one of them was stating they weren't renewing my homeowners which they knew and I knew a month and a half prior, then I received a notice saying there were changes made to my auto policy as of September 9th and the policy for the auto is now $1590.52 that's an increase of $383. Mind you they knew a month and a half prior they weren't bundling with my homeowners anymore but they're stating this increase is due to them not bundling. If I would have received a bill for $1,590.52 I would have not renewed with them, I would have gone with auto club who is cheaper. I feel they need to honor the 1,207.52 that I paid prior to the policy starting on September 9th, but they didn't let me know until after the fact that they raised it $383 This is totally underhanded they knew a month and a half prior there wasn't going to be a bundle. I've called them they don't care they won't honor it and told me I can cancel, well they have over $1,200 of my money I don't have the money to go with somebody else it'll take them weeks if not a month to send my money back and I need that money to pay for another policy. They knew a month and a half prior they shouldn't be able to raise it after the fact this is their error and I request that they honor the $1,207.52 that I paid in full for the policy year. If they won't do that I request that they overnight my money back once I start another policy! This is totally wrong and should not be allowed to happen!
