I recently had Bekins moving company out of Carlisle Pennsylvania, move my entire household on January 3rd and 4th 2024. During the move they dropped and ruined a 60 inch flatscreen TV. After nearly three weeks of back-and-forth text messaging and phone calls they finally offered me a settlement of $.60 per pound of the damaged item. Basically they offered me $50 for a $1500 television. I was never offered the opportunity to purchase additional insurance through the moving company and even purchased a special moving box from the company to protect the television which was damaged. It would be my advice that you avoid this company and save yourself the trouble that I’ve been going through.

This review is for Bekins Movins Solutions, *********************************************************************** ***** We contracted for Bekins to move us within ********. It was scheduled for two days, one day pickup up, one day delivery. We also paid extra to have a piano moved. I had a piano board for shipping in storage which was the first stop. The piano people arrived and demanded the piano board, which hadn't been picked up, so prepared the piano, but left it with the legs on and left. We were told that someone would always be with the truck so that nothing would get pilfered while they were up in our apartment to on the 16th floor. All three people (we were told there would be four) came up. I ultimately had to go down to the alley and watch the truck in the cold, while the three were upstairs. We were charged 50% up front with 50% to be paid upon completion. After the second day, they had not piano crew to put the piano back together, other than the legs with the moving crew put on. They then proceeded to charge my credit card SIX TIMES. Four days later I'm still carrying a $16,000 balance on my credit card because they can't figure out how to reverse this. I spent 16 in the credit card industry and this is child's play. If they can't figure it out they should get on the phone with their merchant process and ask them to help. Fortunately, I have enough credit on my card that it didn't overcharge and wipe out my open to buy.My wife repeatedly called the salesman who apologized but did nothing. They finally got a piano guy to arrive about an hour ago, but the charges are still on my card.Review from Jennifer Laconca L

NEGATIVE STARS-RUN AWAY FROM BEKINS When I supplied damage for my claim, I was told that we had opted for $.60/lb of furniture if damaged. When I asked where the weights came from, ************************* told me, "Not to worry about it. She knows the weights". The damaged furniture was extremely under weight. After paying 10K to refinish **** hardwood floors the movers scratched them terribly in every single room. I explained that I wanted each room done one at a time so that I did not have to move out of the house again. The claim amount was for the floors to be done all at once and NO COVERAGE for moving out-I explained that I WOULD NOT USE THEM AGAIN.Here is a list of damages: Kitchen. This was specifically caused from the movers' hand truck used to move the refrigerator back into the kitchen on 7/27/22. Dresser Mirror in the Master Bedroom on 7/10/23. Floor of Master Bedroom on 7/10/23.Master Bedroom closet door on 7/10/23.Armoire damage in Master Bedroom on 7/10/23.Master Bedroom door frame on 7/10/23.Guest Room door frame on 7/10/23.Staircase ******** on 7/10/23.Door Frame into Dining Room from Foyer 7/27/22.Floor in Living Room from 7/10/23.Sunroom Floor on 7/10/23.31-37 Kitchen Floor on 7/27/22.38 Dining Room wall 7/27/22.39-49 Dining Room Floor on 7/27/22.50 Armoire in Dining Room on 7/27/22. Finally, the home was built in ****. These are the original floors outside of the kitchen that was built in **** and that is the age of those floors. One reason that I had all of the furniture moved out was to have the floors refinished. They were perfect before the movers damaged them.Review from Kacie G

ZERO STARS-DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS ORGANIZATION. Our cross country move from Alexandria, VA which involved 9 month storage by Bekins Moving Solutions resulted in many broken items and a missing family heirloom antique desk. We were told in an email from ******* ******, Sales Manager and our first point of contact for the move, that the desk had "been received and secured safely" in their warehouse, but when the desk did not show up in Spokane WA, ******* ****** and Louis ******, General Manager, took no responsibility. We had to file a police report in order to get paid over $3000 under our homeowners insurance, but it will never make up for this precious family heirloom being gone. The claims representative, ***** *******, was callous and uncaring and looked for ways to deny any payment vs a way to find coverage since Bekins Moving Solutions obviously FAILED to enter our antique into our inventory. (I happen to be an insurance agent and found her lack of professionalism jarring; she actually laughed and mocked our situation when pressed.) We have made many long distance moves and this was the worst experience ever. Most Sincerely, ***** ***** and ***** *********Review from ANDREW E

We had our 2 households in storage for over a year and when we asked them to forward everything to our new home in South Dakota they only send half of the two households. We are missing most of our furniture and boxes which contained valuable china cutlery etc. a table top for $7000.00 is missing a china cabinet, antique table and 5 oriental rugs. A value of at least $30.000.00. We asked them to surge for our things, this was 3 weeks ago, but to this date they have not found them. They asked us to provide a list with all the Items missing and then they would expedite the claim. I do not trust these people and I am very disappointed with their response. I definitely do not recommend this moving company . We paid $750.00 for storage and they charged $12.000.00 to move half of our goods to Spearfish. These people are dishonest and nobody should trust them ever again. G.S

First, let me say that we were told that Bekins was BBB Accredited! Next, we were also told that our possessions would be in a climate controlled area, this was not true since the heat in the warehouse had to be extreme to have the colors in our carpets run into each other and the backing to become hard and brittle! We were never told that we could purchase extra coverage in the event of damaged or lost goods! Bekins conveniently lost several of our boxes, some containing expensive and irreplaceable items! They did, however, give us a check for $250 for our carpets only (approximately $4000 including cleaning and scotch guarding prior to going into storage). We did not receive anything for our missing items! Nor did they even attempt to look for them, or contact a customer who may have received them in error. I am just sorry that I did not number and note the contents of each box myself! I would never recommend this firm, even to my worst enemy, because they could care less about the customer. They are only concerned with the sale and are not upfront and truthful about the warehouse conditions. The salesman who wrote the contract should be fired for not disclosing the conditions our items would be subjected to, instead of telling us they would be climate controlled! And, he should have educated us on what to purchase in the event of damage or loss!!!! To say this was our absolute worst experience it putting it mildly! Be forewarned!!!Review from Andrew B

I would highly highly recommend avoiding this company. Moving is never a great experience, but I never thought that a "professional moving" company would make moving a nightmare. First, do not let them pack you out. Their employees are trained to use very expensive boxes. For example, a plastic Christmas tree was wrapped in a "Grandfather clock" box that cost $133. Thus, the box that the tree is wrapped in is worth double the product. Second, they purposely hide the true price of the move by providing non-binding estimates. Then, when your move is $2,000 more than quoted, they generate the most ridiculous, verifiably false excuses. Indeed, the salesman overestimated our move weight by thousands of pounds; upset about the lost profits, they tagged us with a $2,000 "truck storage" fee. Third, their employees lie about taking notes during calls. I made clear the move date, and they literally quoted that they were taking notes about our call. NOPE. They have their own agenda and value their time and profits more than the customer's satisfaction. They do not even communicate with their drivers regarding customer notes. Rest assured that the Better Business Bureau will be advised of their deceptive practices. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company at all costs.Bekins A-1 Movers, Inc. Response

Our company, Bekins A-1 Movers, Inc DBA Bekins Moving Solutions, Inc. has no record of ever doing business with this person. They clearly have the wrong "Bekins" and must have moved with the company Bekins Van Lines, Inc. It's a common mistake, since we share the same six letters in our name, but we are completely independent companies. Please remove this from our profile and direct the consumer to contact the correct company. Thank you Scott HarveyReview from Teri S

After the sale of our home in AZ we contacted Bekins to store our belongings for six months while we searched for a new home out of state. We had all our possessions stored in the Bekins warehouse in Phoenix from April-Oct. We then arranged to have our belongings moved with Bekins when we found a house and we're ready to proceed with the move. Upon arrival, we were informed by the driver that 18 of our cartons were stolen from the secure warehouse and 10 more had been opened and ransacked. He delivered those 10 and they were half empty. An heirloom coffee table was also missing. We filed a claim although it would be weeks before we were able to determine what had been stolen. The claim was paid almost immediately, however, we have since realized the loss was significantly more than we claimed. Many of the items were irreplaceable. Maybe that's why they paid so quickly. We also attempted to get a refund on the storage costs. They had promised a safe and secure facility. We we're told the warehouse was temperature controlled, secure as Ft. Knox, even used by the U.S. military. We were instructed by Bekins management to contact the General Manager of the storage facility. Our emails and calls to the GM went unanswered. He was worthless. We sent a letter to the company president. No response. Since then we were told we would receive $600. for the 18 boxes missing. After numerous phone calls and emails the storage division agreed to refund our storage costs. Total loss to us is thousands more than Bekins was willing to reimburse. We don't understand why a police report was not filed or an investigation done as you'd think a SECURE storage facility would have camera footage. Bekins does not care and apparently theft under their watch is an acceptable way to conduct business.Review from Mary J.

This complaint is in regards to the Phoenix AZ Warehouse on Buckeye Road. I decided to use Bekins for my move to Wisconsin based on reviews - not the Florida Review one 1 star - which I had not seen.
Ofelia P. was the company agent who came to my apartment on 10/14/21 and per our discussion the following was agreed:
Bekins would pack my two televisions and two large wall art which had glare free glass. This was done with the agreement they could pack them in such a way to provide safe moving to avoid damage - I paid an additional $150 for this specific service.
Ms. Padilla would be my contact from the beginning of the move until delivered and everything completed once at my new location in Wisconsin. Pick up in Phoenix was scheduled for 1/5/22. Prior to pick up I had a few questions and left voicemails, none of which were returned. A few days before the pick up date I finally called Customer Service when no one updated me to confirm pickup and at that time I learned she apparently left the company and my file was not turned over to anyone. From that Point on I was acting as my own agent regarding the move. Two items packed to provide safe movement were damaged and Bekins Claims have shown themselves as a moving company lacking good reputation and manipulate words, etc. to avoid for damages for these items or at least reimburse me for this $150 packing. Also a box was lost and is still lost. One reply was everything was marked as received (movers agreed the box was missing) but Customer Service said this box was circled and they are still doing a trace. So claims and customer service both different. Also, once a problem reported the Phoenix office/warehouse no longer took my calls and Bekins other locations seem to no longer return calls and I am aware I did not take their insurance but they did lose a box and damaged items I paid them for to assure safety. I am receiving a check for $9 and they want me to sign an agreement to give me $36 more
