The final product was a huge let down, multiple openings at ground and roof level, the cheap sheds at Lowes are more secure than this. We purchased a 30x60x14 metal building, the metal is thin & cheap, the roof is rolled metal not flat which we were told it would be, the bevels all open to the outside allowing *************** intrusion inside & the door locks do not line up. The side door did not line up causing me to twist my ankle several times, we had to get shell to surround the building to slow down rodent & water intrusion an additional cost to us. The roof insulation that was supposed to be "attached to the roof" is literally per their invoice "double bubble" reflective sheets as stated on the final invoice that they charged $5000 for and yet you can buy online at retail for under $300 for work that literally took under 20 mins and was NOT attached leaving perfect nesting areas for rodents and pests. We were told we were getting insulation, not bubble sheets. They create nooses for handles that caught on my husbands head while riding out of the garage on the lawnmower and the cheap plastic flimsy door buckled. They immediately blamed our concrete contractor despite the fact that the concrete crew followed exactly what was in the engineering plans. Suncoast blames the concrete crew and All Metal Buildings and took zero accountability. They hire a crew that is from out of state (per the crew they were ******* it so they could all get back home to their state) with only 1 person that speaks some English and the rest of the crew when you say hello to them looks right through you which is rather creepy and unsettling. They said if we had used their concrete company (which would charge $27,000 verses $20,000) then things would have been done differently. Unethical and crappy building and now we have to spend thousands more to make our building secure. They blame us for not using their concrete people ($7K over local ****** ****** blame their manufacturerBusiness response

Thank you for sending a second letter as this is the first one we have received and the owner was out of town until this morning, which is why we are only now responding. We were under the impression that everything was fine since the customer paid our company in full.

12/6/23 7th Edition engineer drawing sent from All Metal
2/1/24 ***************** requested 8th edition engineer drawings--requested from All Metal

2/12/24 ***************** emailed letting us know her concrete guy was pouring the slab today/ building was taken off of hold
2/21/24 Building was installed
2/27/24 ***** called customer to collect final payment, customer complained about locks on outside of roll *** and rope on handle, it was explained that the rope on the handle is just until the customer changes them out, the locks on the outside of the doors are all like that.
3/27/24 **** called customer to collect final payment and was informed that there were multiple issues with ****** **** asked customer for pictures.
3/28/24 Received an email from ***************** with a list of problems and multiple pictures. (See attached pics)

1. The reflective bubble shown is not what we use, we use a 3 barrier (thermal, radiant & vapor barrier) that also doesn't include install and labor
2. Invoice
3. Suncoast did not do the concrete, the homeowner paid someone else to do the concrete and they did not follow the site plan.
4. The concrete company that the customer hired did not do the drop down lip that is required. (please see attached picture)
5. Please see #3.
6. Please see #3
7. Please see #4
8. Please see #4.
9. This is due to the roof panels meeting the side panels and the gap is minute that a rodent could not get through.
10. & 11. Please see #4.
12. All roll *** 10x10 and under have a rope tied to the handle at time of install and then it is up to the customer to change to whatever is convenient for them.
13. Please see #4.
14.-16. The customer told both the factory and ***************** that he hit the garage with his lawn mower

Complaint: 21553190
I am rejecting this response because:1: their engineering report shows nothing of any door openings, it is a generic engineering report apparently.
2: By Suncoasts own invoice it is double bubble that witnesses saw take up to 15 to 20 minutes to roll out.
3: Suncoast install crew did not follow any OSHA requirements.
4: Suncoast does not employ any concrete crews they hire outside companies therefore it should not matter who the concrete company is, the engineering report should have the proper details so that any concrete company can do it correctly.
5: Suncoast said their concrete company charges $27,000, the local companies charge $20,000 and for a thicker pad as well. Again we are seeing price gauging.
We are asking for a partial refund $5,000 for the additional concrete work that will have to be done now, $2,000 for a lift to rented to safely reach the roof level of entire garage to seal the roof with rodent proof sealant, and $3,800 for the over charge of the double bubble that was rolled out as their 'insulation' that also was not installed properly leaving large pockets for rodents and birds to nest. For a total of $10,800
It would also be professional if Suncoast could take the time to spell their customers names properly.
Thank you,
**** & *************************HISTORY BELOW
Every bevel at the floor and roof have open gaps allowing rodents into the garage, photo shows light coming thru, we had to add shell to try and keep rodents and pests out
Now we have to extend footer to seal up building which is going to be another 5K to stop rodent entry
Have to extend entry door slab because no one communicated it's location, no proper measurement provided
Insulation is roll and NOT attached to roof like we were told, we were charged $5,000 for something that cost $500 see photo also leaving a ton of gaps for rodents to nest in
Garage vehicle and entrance doors not flush with slab leaving gaps large enough for water and rodents to enter building and do not close all the way
Garage entrance door not center, twisted my ankle three times now, had to lay shell to prevent fall hazard
2 of the 3 door locks are on the outside and also the locks can't line up because doors can't close flush
Roof is NOT metal roofing it is rolled metal, it is cheap and I asked for a metal roof
Insulation is NOT attached to the roof like we were told, it was laid on top of the trusses and then the the metal roof rolled out on top of it leaving gaps for rodents to nest.
Walls are so thin you can use a steak knife to cut thru it
Garage doors are like plastic, the rope noose they made to open it caught my husbands head and buckled the door, do you realize the injury this could have caused him!!!! the crew makes a noose, what in the world!!!!
The lack of communication led to concrete slab issues and took weeks longer
Locks on bay doors do not line up
Sent out of state crew and I was not made aware of this during sales, I would have NOT agreed to that and would have kept shopping around
No concrete step down so the bevels are open and exposed on ground level (also at roof level allowing rodents and pest inside)
Had to chase down correct code required engineer report
We have to reinforce doors that already crinkled
had to lay shell as a temp fix to stop fall hazard and slow down rodent entry
Sincerely,

This Complaint was dated May 13, 2024 but did not arrive at 705 ******************** until May 25, 2024 which was a holiday weekend, I have attached a copy of the stamped letter from BBB. In response to the consumer's rejection:
1. All of our 30' or under engineering are generic but we also attached a floor outlining all doors, windows & roll *** which the customer signed and was also attached in the owner/builder permit.
2.Customer paid $2,790 for the Double Bubble on the roof (but is claiming $5,000 I have attached a copy of her signed invoice). Double bubble must be applied to each panel then attached to the truss and however long it takes to put the roof on is how long it took to put the double bubble on, the customer was told the cost at time of purchase and therefore could have declined.
3. Suncoast is not the installer but the distributor for the manufacturer, the customer was aware of this as they signed the permit waiver and initialed that she is aware that we are the distributor and not the manufacturer or sub contractors (I have attached a copy of the permit waiver)
4.Suncoast has used the same concrete company for 21 years. We do not care who the customer uses only that the customer does not blame us for the mistakes of her concrete person and wants us to pay for said mistakes.
5. The customer states that she paid $20,000 for her concrete and is ***et that it wasn't done right, most concrete companies pull there own concrete permit but again it should not matter what our concrete person charges as she chose to go with someone else and is ***et that they did not do a good job and could not read a site plan or floor plan which I have attached.

My name is Douglas D*** and I am the owner of Suncoast Sales. Mr. ********* first hired ******* to do his architectural drawings and documents necessary for the Hernando County Permit office, after months of back and forth with Mr. ********* due to his aggressive behavior, he was told that he was not welcomed in ******** office as outlined in the letter from Mark Norman owner/proprietor. Mr. ********* then came to my lot at *** ** ******** ***** ******** ** ***** to order his bldg on June 30, 2023. Not only did ***** order his bldg but she even got all of his paperwork together to take to the permit office and even though ******* told him not to come back they still made corrections the county needed to his drawings for the Hernando County Permit office as a favor to us. Mr ********* went to the Hernando County Permit office to file Owner/Builder and again due to his aggressive behavior toward Michael M***** and staff, he was asked to leave the permit office as well. It was at this point that Mr. ********* hired ****** ******* to file his permit and change from owner builder to contractor. Over the next 2 months M. ********* was verbally abusive in text messages and on the phone as he did not understand the permitting process and thought it could be done overnight, he became so aggressive towards Mr. ******* to the point of sending nasty text messages late at night about his wife, and Wesley also said he was threatening him and at this point Mr. ******* fired Mr. ********* but made sure that the permit was approved and has been ready for pick up since October 17, 2023. On November 2, 2023 Mr. ********* and his wife met with myself, my sales person, ***** ****** and my office manager, Shelly J******* During the meeting Mr. ********* became very aggressive and even leaned across the desk towards me and I had to tell him to sit down and quit trying to intimidate me he stated he better go outside. Once Mr. ********* went outside, his wife was crying and shaking stating all she wanted was her home, we told her we would help her so long as the husband stayed out of it and wasn't verbally abusive towards myself and my staff. During the meeting ***** ****** called the permit office and spoke with **** and was told that if Mrs. ********* filled out the new paperwork and signed the necessary documents that they would swap everything over and she would get her permit same day, both ***** ****** and Shelly J****** offered to meet Mrs. ********* at the permit office on November 7, 2023 as she felt intimidated because she doesn't speak good English, at this point Mrs. ********* became very excited at the thought that she would be able to walk out with her permit on the same day. Mrs. ********* told her husband who stated he was happy with the outcome and agreed to stay out of it and let his wife go to the permit office on Tuesday with my staff. On November 6th ***** called Mrs ********* and left a message to confirm the meeting, she also sent a text message. On the morning of November 7th, Mrs. ********* was a no show, no call. At this point, I feel that ******** ****** ******* and myself have done everything in our power to help The *********** and again his permit is ready at the permit office. You can also check with the permit office regarding how long it takes to get a home permit and the 3 1/2 months that it took is amazing. Mr *********** signed invoice states no refund unless permit is denied. Permit was not denied and the ********** done a no call no show to pick up the permit. It's very obvious that the problem is Mr *********** short temper along with his bad attitude and aggressive behaviorBusiness response

I don't understand why this is closed as unresolved and could cause a negative impact on this company. The customer was told that he would get a refund if he could not get a permit but the permit has been ready since October 17, 2023 and the customer went to the Hernando County permit office and canceled his permit AFTER he filed a complaint with the BBB. The customer also called the manufacturer and canceled his home from being completed AFTER he filed a complaint with the BBB. We have provided numerous documents to show our side of this but the customer has failed to provide proof that we did not comply with what he paid us to do. I do not feel that this should cause a negative impact on my company. If the customer had not canceled everything then he would have his permit and home by now, this is the fault of the customer not the distributor.Business response

There was nothing done on their part to know the correct codes for the doors and windows to be county approved we had multiple issues with this also the contractor recommended by Suncoast sales had no insurance which also prevented us from getting the permit. The contact stated any permit issues the money would be returned and we had plenty of issues. ***************** manipulative ways to get his customers upset while on camera didn't work so he continues to manipulate the situation by keeping my money. ********* to be exactCustomer response

Summer of 2022 I signed a contract for install of building with Suncoast. At the signing over 10 months ago I was told I was required to rent or pay this company to rent a forklift for the day of install. Install arrived on Jan 31. The team that the SC. hired showed up late to the site. They began building on day one without the forklift because it didn’t show for hours into the afternoon. When it did get dropped off the forklift wasn’t required as I was lied to from SC.. It just sat for day one and was picked up 9am of the second morning. I’ve requested a refund for this lift from my financing agreement with SC. over 7 days ago with the response of we will see ( we own the forklift I have to call the owner) been 7 days, emails, calls with no answers. The 2nd issue is that SC. subcontracted multiple services of this build out and lost control with no communication. They began building on Jan 31st without all required materials. missing 14x14 Door valued at I would say $2000 that disappeared on the way to my property. I was informed of this the afternoon of the second build day when they were leaving with everything done except the 14x14 door installed. ( Best Metal Buildings ) informed me I would get follow up call within 24 hours Feb 2 2023. Their contact info is 386/754/2177 EXT. 103. After multiple emails, calls to SC. and the BMB. over the past seven days still yet to receive any responses of when it will be installed, nothing. All I get is you will get call back. This has caused major issues with my county permit process, time restraints that I have of removing another shed off the property within 30 days. I’ve scheduled other work to begin starting Feb 3 but now it’s delayed due to the need for SC. to finish the job that should have been never started unless all supplies were in stock and ready for install I need to receive full refund for the amount charged for the fork lift that I was scammed out for and I need resolution on this missing roll up door.
