Hise Roofing was hired to put new roofs on both my mothers house as well as my sons house. The price of the roof included a wind mitigation inspection. After submitting the wind mitigation inspection performed by Hise Roofing to the homeowner insurance company, they came back stating that Hise Roofing is not properly licensed to perform the inspection and as a result, they could not use the inspection for any discount on my sons roof. After taking over a month to get the documentation to submit to the insurance company to try and explain that Hise Roofing could perform the inspection, the insurance company came back and stated they are not licensed and therefore would not accept the inspection. After another two weeks, **** did pay another company to perform the inspection which now significantly differed from the one they did resulting in an increase of $2000 to the insurance premium. After contacting them and providing the report, they stated it was inaccurate and they would contact the inspector they hired to get it corrected. It has now been 2 additional weeks and no correction has been made. While the roof itself is wonderful, getting them to resolve the inspection has been impossible. Because of the different findings between the inspections, my sons insurance premium is now significantly higher and he will no longer get a discount for future years. Given we spent $15,000 on just my sons roof in order to help lower his insurance premiums, the differing inspections will now have a long term impact to future discounts. Given more than 2 months have passed and they continue not to fix the issue, I do feel like this issue needs to be escalated. Not only am I filing a complaint here but will also file a complaint with the State regarding them performing wind mitigation inspections that when a licensed contractor performs the same inspection have completely different outcomes. This is the reason why insurance companies are wanting licensure.
