On September ******* I did a phone consultation with a sales representative for Mia ********** At the time I explained I was wanting to get Liposuction. After a few questions the sales representative explained I was a good candidate. I was told in order to schedule a date and receive a $500 discount with the special promotion then I would have to pay the deposit which was $472.50 that Day 9/16/2024. The representative explained that it was only to book that day and if I wanted to cancel I could receive my money back. The next day 9/17/2024 after I spoke to someone else who I told I would like to cancel explained that she would send a message for the refund department to contact me. I also sent an email to the person I spoke to about the refund so the message could also be sent to refund specialist. After speaking to refund specialist by email she stated my down payment was non-refundable. I explained that I was told different by sales representative and she repeated it was non-refundable and sent a non refundable policy. I explained I did not receive a policy or sign a policy as such. I expressed my concerns of false advertising and defrauding that happened to me. I since then havent heard back. After reading many reviews so many people this has happen to.

      Complaint: 22310988

I am rejecting this response because:
This should not require a HIPPA agreement. I am discussing a deposit. If I was reporting this to the nursing board it would require a HIPPA agreement. If I had the surgery annd was unhappy like some of these complaints then I would need a HIPPA agreement because I would report it to the Board of Nursing. After reading the complaints on BBB this company practice Deceptive advertising they will tell you anything you want to hear to get you to send a deposit. Im sure more than half of the people who send those deposits go through with surgery so the money becomes a waste. They will try to claim the deposit of $500+ deposits are used for services provided during scheduling when all you did was speak to a representative for a few minutes. DO NOT let a 10 minute phone call cost you hundreds. The sales representative practice Predatory sales tactics. They are aggressive and miss informing. They will make you feel like you are getting such a good deal and they are here for you every step of the way but as soon as you back out or something goes wrong then they are not here anymore. All this money being collected as a deposit and not being returned is unlawful when no service is being given. Avoid this business at all cost. Research all the petitions against this business and all the scam support groups on this business before choosing them. Only way to deal with them is an Attorney.

I booked surgery and paid a deposit to have surgery in December. They sent me a email stating that the doctor I booked, was no longer available so I had to book before December now or go with a new doctor. Obviously this is an inconvenience as I can't book before December as I already had approved time off and special arrangements put into place. Also I didn't want to go with another doctor as I did throughly research with the doctor I choose and this is my body which could be a life or death situation and I don't feel comfortable with just switching doctors. I asked them for a refund and they told me no as deposits are non refundable however this is a fault on there end and not mine !

I paid a deposit for surgery, at that time my payment method for the remainder of the invoice was going to be Care Credit in which I've already gotten approved credit for and *** had already confirmed that they accept that payment method. I received an email yesterday stating due to unforseen circumstances, *** could no longer accept care credit. So I responded to the email that if that is the case I would like to cancel and get a refund for my deposit. Then I got a call, confirming that I was unable to receive a refund. Yet, I am not the cause of this issue. Please issue a refund for my deposit and that is all I ask. I do not plan to open more credit accounts just because yall don't accept what I have already been approved for. Thanks.

I had scheduled a procedure with *** aesthetics NYC on May 17th 2024 during the phone call I was not told about a non refundable policy nor was I emailed the policy or signed anything understanding the policy. They was quick to take my money, after that I had decided to change my procedure and the doctor I was contacting them 1-2 times a week maybe more, leaving voicemails, texting a lady named **** who I spoke to on the phone prior to giving my deposit. When they felt like answering or calling me back I talked to someone and letting them know the procedure I wanted to change to and doctor. When going on the app nothing was changed to my procedure. i would be told someone will be contacting me I never got a call. I would then call again, and again, and again speaking to multiple people telling them all the procedure I wanted to change and the doctor nothing was changing or being done. After a month of dealing with this I decided to cancel my procedure as I felt they was unprofessional and did not care about me or my needs, I feel like all they wanted was my money and not actually take care of me which I wasnt asking for much besides a change to the procedure. When telling them Id like to cancel they was rude and I was told the deposit is being kept due to the time and expenses they had put into my procedure. They put no time into anything for me, they put no expenses into anything for me as I havent even picked a date for my procedure yet. All they did for me was take my money, scheduled what I wanted originally and not answer phone calls. I was told a higher up would call me, I never received a call. Very unprofessional.
