Date of trans.: 25 April 2023; Amount of $ paid : $******** What business committed to provide: a healthy puppy, ongoing support (e.g. ear setting); Nature of Dispute: puppy was born with a terminal congenital disorder; Did business try to resolve problem?: Mrs. ******* offered to replace the puppy. We declined and chose reimbursement of vet bills, as allowed by state law. Mrs. ******* has not contacted us since, and instead deferred to her business partner (see below) who has attempted to delay, defer, and avoid Kerifield Kennel's obligations to reimburse vet bills. We now ask for refund of purchase price. Account number: N/A. Kerifield Kerry Blue Terriers has avoided ALL forms of written contract, receipt, or records of this transaction. Fraud or misrepresentation is suspected. Advertising issues: Mrs. ******* represents herself as an AKC Breeder of Merit, and we agreed to buy a puppy from HER with that understanding. At time of delivery, we found Mrs. ******* acted as a consignee for another party, who is NOT an AKC Breeder of Merit, and appears (by conduct of business) to be a backyard breeder. 1) We purchased a puppy from Kerifield Kerry Blue Terriers; puppy was later diagnosed with a congential disorder; 2) Kerifield Kerry Blue Terriers appears to have misrepresented whom we were actually dealing with. Had we known the true nature of our dealing with Mrs. ******* (consignee, providing AKC Breeder of Merit cover to consignor, a backyard breeder) we would not have agreed to this purchase. 3) Mrs. ******* acted in bad faith by failing to provide written records of purchase, failure to fully disclose her consignee status, failure to provide receipts, failure to provide support as promised, and delays in fulfilling other obligations. We herein seek refund of purchase $, not vet bills, sought elsewhere. This BBB complaint is re: only civil matters above with Mrs. ******* and excludes any legal matter with Mrs. ******* or consignor that remain TBD.Business response

Thank you for speaking with me yesterday. In our conversation I explained to you that I don't understand the harassment from this person we offered to take the puppy back. We offered to pay the vet bills up to the price of the puppy. All we asked was for copies of recites. We never got any proof of price of vet care for this dog. We couldn't release the money without proof of care for her. I do not understand harassment instead of just getting the money. Makes no sense to me. Originally I felt so bad that Iwanted pay the bill and give them another puppy. I offered the only puppy I had at the time. They weren't interested. With all this ridiculousness. I no longer feel like giving them another puppy. I am very sad that they had this problem, Sincerely, ******** case ******** PS. I just received message from Thelmarys that she sent them a check again thank you for your attention to this matter
