On October 24, 2022 I purchased I thought was a designer belt from Today's Male for a total of $64.18. My son selected the belt the sales person measured him and cut the belt to fit him. While been checked out I asked the question, "why the belt so expensive" the sales person replied "it is a designer belt". After the transaction he put the belt and stamped both receipts and put them in the bag. Once home I pulled out the belt to check it, there is no indication that this is a designer belt. This is a knock off. The belt buckle and the belt itself are cheaply made. There are no tags and no name on belt. The only thing written inside of the belt is "made in China". Then I pulled out the receipts and noticed what he stamped on the receipts," Our policy no cash refunds and All Sales Final". The sales person never stated to me that the item could not be returned. If the sales person would had stated to me that this item could not be return, I wouldn't have purchased it. I do not like the option where I can not return my purchased if I'm not satisfied with it. I had my son to put on some pants with belt loops to see if the belt was cut appropriately, it was not. My son was mearsured in the store with athletic shorts on. The belt buckle kept sliding and constantly needed readjusting. I contacted the owner of the store and she gave no resloution in resolving this issue. I'm seeking a full refund. Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/11/16) */ This customer came into our store for a custom cut belt for her son for his homecoming dance. The customer was not satisfied with the price. We advised that we are unable to discount the purchase and the prices are set. Further, there is a large sign behind our checkout counter, which advises we do not accept returns nor do we provide refunds. Also, we include, as a courtesy, a stamp on our receipts with confirmation that all sales are final. One to two days after purchase, the customer called to request a refund and we advised that we do not issue refunds and all sales are final. Thereafter, the customer called to complain about the cost of the belt. We advised on the call that the belt buckle is not standard and contains a design, which prices it higher than our basic belts. The customer called and complained that the belt was not a designer brand and was made in China. We advised her that the belt is not a specific designer, but the buckle is a more detailed design, and that most merchandise in the American market is made in China. The customer called again to complain that the belt was not properly sized and did not fit her son. We advised her to come into the store with her son so we could see the fitting and we would remedy the issue to provide a proper fitting if there was issue. The customer never came back to our establishment to evidence the alleged improper fitting and never gave us the opportunity to remedy the alleged improper fitting. We are more than willing to re-size the belt if it does not fit, however, we will need the customer and her son to return to our store so that we can re-size the belt as it is a custom cut. It is our company policy to disallow returns and we have had this policy in place since 1993 when we opened our first location. We have ample signage as well as information on our receipts regarding our return policy. However, with regard to improper fitting, we are happy to remedy the issue if the customer returns to the store with her son to evidence the improper fitting and allow for a re-fitting. My son and I came to Today's Male looking for clothing for********* High School Homecoming. My son was a looking for a pair of royal blue pants and a white shirt to match his **** Sneakers. A belt was never on the radar. The sales rep asked if we needed any help and we advised what we were looking for. My son tried on two pair pants which did not fit him. The sales rep advised us of a store near *******. We walked out of the store and my son ran into some friends that had purchased some items out of Today's Male. They to purchased the belt in questioned. So we walked down near ******* to find the store closed. As we walked back down to exit the mall, my son said to me,"mom I want one of those belts". We went back to Today's Male and he looked at the belts and made his selection. The sales rep stated to me,"that he was going to make the belt only for my son". I had no ideal that he was just going to cut the belt. He just cut the tip of the belt. When he cut the belt he did not sew the area he cut. Therefore, leaving it to unraveled or separate. The issue I have is that there was no visible signs of the price of the belt. There are signs throughtout the store for other items. I did not know that once the belt was cut I could not returned until I got home and inspected the belt and the receipt. The sales rep put everything in the bag. I had advised the sales rep by cutting the belt and if it does not fit his other pants that I will be back. I called the next day and advised the owner and the sales rep the issue with the belt. They both were stuck on that I had an issue with the price of the belt. I do not have an issue with the cost of anything if it is real and not a knock off. After the conversations I had with the owner and the sales rep. I deceided not to returned to the store, because my issue was not going to be resolved. I just decided to file a complaint with BBB. The sales rep lied about it being a designer belt. Nowhere on the belt is a name. Also, he lied about the belt being genuine leather. Nowhere on the belt is this engraved or written. Today's male needs to provided video footage of this encounter. I am seeking a full refund to resolve this issue. Thank you...
