Thought long and hard about posting what has transpired with our English Bulldog Chevy . I want everyone to be aware of the events . We used Red Fern Pet Lodge to board the two dogs to go out of town to visit family . If anyone knows us we love our 4 legged family members. They were dropped off yesterday at 9 am with instructions that Chevy our English bulldog was not allowed outside but only to go to the bathroom due to excessive heat we are having currently. At 4pm we get a call from the office at Redfern pet lodge that Chevy is over heated and was brought into the office . So that means he was left outside for excessive amount of time because it does not happen within moments . Then we Board our flight which is 2 1/2 hours . We land and we have a text from the owner of the lodge to call him. At this time I knew something was wrong . The call was the dreaded phone call I knew what it was at that time. He called to let us know Chevy passed away . So I get off that call and I call Uf emergency vet to get the info on our dog . The veterinarian was amazing . He went over the intake of Chevy . His temp was 109 (which is organ failure ) . I asked him his medical opinion on Chevy . He said he died due to heat stroke and organ failure. So I proceed to get more info on the situation . First call we received was at 4:02 pm . Asked the vet what time was intake ? 5:48 pm 1 hour 46 mins and his temp was still 109 degrees . Please explain how a kennel that is suppose to care and listen to your requests allows any dog to reach deadly temperatures? I want everyone to know the neglect this place has for others animals !!! Beware of this kennel and the lack of knowledge for other animals.updated got more info from the if vet . Redfern did nothing to cool him off at all. Also refused to show all cameras from that day just picked and chose what he wanted us to see . Also ********* ******** is still mia
