on 04/01/2024 - I had gone to the store due to some issues with my bank and paid a half payment of $77 and some change. Upon the time of that payment I was advised that on 04/15/2024 my next due date (based on my semi monthly contract) I was to pay $232.50 instead of my $155 (approx) payment. On 04/15/2024 I logged in to the system and saw that it showed $155 (approx) and due to my own issues I completely forgot until today when I did the review of my banking history and saw the $77 payment on 04/01 Lately I have been getting collection attempts and logged in to the system and saw that it changed me from semi monthly to biweekly. The female employee I spoke to today REFUSED to address this. Instead she blamed it on me. She stated that due to me missing a payment the system changed me from semi to biweekly and that I would need to pay over $300.00 on 05/15/2024 to extend out.. However this is not correct.. I should be paying $232.50 (approx) based on the half payment that was missed on 04/01 and the current payment due 05/15/2024. On this call she also refused to address the fact that THEY CHANGED MY CONTRACT TERMS.. instead she acted like it was totally normal, my fault and totally acceptable. YOU CANT CHANGE A CONTRACT!!! Instead she wanted to LEAVE ME on biweekly and make me pay extra funds to adjust my payments based on that.. That is not correct.. I request that they correct this process in the system and get the contract update or this will be considered breach of contract by Rent - A - CenterBusiness response

Our office is in receipt of your email regarding the above referenced Better Business Bureau (BBB) complaint.
This Rent-A-Center customer rented their product from an independently owned and operated franchised location. Any further communications should be directed to the franchisee, Impact RTO Florida LLC. As a courtesy, RAC has sent a copy of the BBB complaint to the franchisee.
Given the facts as stated, we consider this matter closed.
