On 03/06/2024 my husband ******************************* went to East USA CDL Training & Testing Center for a 1-hour training with their trucks. ****** was scheduled for his actual CDL Exam the following day 03/07/2024. When ****** arrived at East USA CDL Training & Testing Center on 03/06/2024, ***********, the owner of East USA CDL Training & Testing Center, told my husband that for him to do the training, he had to pay for the training and the exam for the next day upfront because that's the way he did things. My ****** paid because he didn't want to lose his appointment and also lose the 2-hour trip he had made to get there to begin with. The breakdown is $500 for the Exam and $150 for a 1-hour training, totaling $650. At that point, my husband, *******************************, was only given a handwritten receipt, which I have attached. There was no contract given to him at all, nothing provided to him to sign but the handwritten receipt. When my husband proceeded to do the training, he realized that the manual truck had a few things wrong like the odometer and shift stick that won't switch revolutions. In fear of retaliation, he said nothing after the hour of training but instantly regretted having paid upfront without refunds. He returned the next day for his exam and tested; he failed because the gears wouldn't shift revolutions. They got stuck, and the odometer didn't work properly, even to read correctly. He told the owner, ***********, that his truck had issues, and the owner said the truck was fine it was him who had the problem. ****** asked to be shown how the owner shifts the gears and when *** showed him the gears got stuck and *** said that's normal. Which it's not. ****** had to pay an additional $150 to retest and did so using the automatic truck because the manual truck is no good. My husband has spent countless hours training as top of his class on manual trucks and knows how to shift properly. The trucks at this facility are faulty and stealing money knowing they don't work properly.

I will address this complaint in stages as she wrote her complaint. Starting with the 1 hr training for $150.  She is correct that her husband did 1 hr training with ***.  The part that is incorrect is that was not done the day before his test.  The training was done the same night of his initial failure on the road. The training was done that night because her husband refused to drive a total of 4 hr round trip just for 1 hr training with the regular instructor so he was ok with training with ***.  Next topic is the failure of the 1st test.  After talking with the examiner it has been explained to me that her husband failed because he stopped the truck in the middle of the road which by the state standards is an unsafe act and automatic failure on the test.  Had he kept going even if he was missing some gears he would have passed.  I attached a copy of the results from his test and also a test from another school.  We conduct 35 tests a week and 30 of those tests are from 7 other schools whose students on a high average have no problem driving the manual truck.  Now lets address the handwritten receipt.  It's a receipt that comes from a certified receipt book, that counts a s a legal receipt.  If she wanted 1 typed we could have done that too if she asked.  As far as a contract goes the state doesn't require a contract for conducting a test only for student training at our facility in our program.  The 1 hr training is actually practice in the truck.  Most of the time people pay the money and get time to practice in the truck and get use to it not training with a instructor.  The fact that *** tried to give him some instruction was because we actually care about students passing and being safe.  Had she just contacted us nicely and discussed things we could have given money back for the 1 hour training or something maybe but for 2 weeks all she has done is message us and make threats without telling us who she even is.  All we knew was her name and thats it.  Now to address the comment about the odometer, that reads mileage what does that have to do with passing a test.   I believe she meant the tachometer which measures rpms.  Our model of truck doesn't come with 1 and it isn't required to have 1.  Our trucks are inspected regularly by the state and the state comes out and joins us during tests.  We have never had a issue with it.  Her comment about the truck not shifting properly is false.  The problem was her husband was reaching to high of speeds for a low gear and would then try and put it in the wrong gear for the speed he was at.  With proper training he would be able to avoid that problem and find the right gear right away.  With that said she says in her complaint that her husband was a top student at his school and had no issues but its our equipment.  I attached a ****** review she did to a school we test for.  She commented thinking its the school her husband went to which was ***** CDL. The school she commented on is CDL-*****. 2 totally different places.  In her review of the school she says the trucks never work, there was no training, what training there was done was in a automatic.  So my question is if he only trained in an automatic and hardly got any training then how is it she can claim he was the top student and it's our trucks that are the problem? My guess is she is hurting for money and just wants money bak from someone.  I'm sure she tried ***** cdl 1st but her husband signed a norefund contract with them.  With us we provided all the services we offer with the same integrity we offer everyone and that is offered at any testing facility in the state.  I wish her husband well and have no ill wishes for them but request they not contact us anymore.  finally ***** said he had to test in a automatic, he could have canceled at no cost and get more training wherever and come back or test someplace else.  All answers they would have known if they just talked to us instead of trying to make ill threats.
