We hired Mark Davis Tile LLC, for our master bathroom remodel (floor tile, wall tile, shower and pan). He was shown our vision and samples of all tile to be used. Our quote of $2600 was competitive and he seemed as if this would be no problem, so we hired him. Day 3 when installing our expensive patterned niche tile, he didn't center it and expressed his obvious frustration when we voiced our concerns. Rather than working with the homeowner he nearly walked off the job. His solution was to screw in a piece of durock to the niche, which now makes me wonder if it's a potential area for water penetration. By him changing our niche size, he took it upon himself to cut the "finished edge" of the quartz that was to be the shelf and bottom sill plate of that niche. This edge was an upgrade option from the countertop company. He did this on 3 of 5 pieces of quartz and ran screws through previously waterproofed walls in 2 of 3 niches. I felt the need to monitor his work more closely after this point. I caught numerous crooked tiles and contrasting grout line gaps in doing so. When asked about some of the very rough cut edges of tile I was assured, once grouted, you will never see it. Nearing completion of the job I inquired to the pitch of the shower floor seeming very flat and was again assured it will drain. After completion of the job, we have found numerous lose tiles, the entire bottom row around the would be tub area isn't "tight to the floor" as he would have described. Grout lines are inconsistent at best with mismatching colors and sloppy clean up. Shower floor is missing tiles, pools water in multiple areas and water runs away from the drain towards the wall. Mark was called 3 days later and a refund was suggested and I was met with verbal hostility over the phone. He said to meet him at his house for a refund and I came with a police escort from Volusia County Sheriffs Office. I was met outside with the same verbal hostility and received no refund.

      Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 12, 2022/02/01) */ The home owner look at the walls and the shower before I grount it and he look at the job 3 times after I got done grounting no problems he said it look good. Payed me with a check 5 days later he saying about everything is wrong I said i would come that weekend and fix it he said no he wanted a refund i said i will come and see whats the problem and fix any issuses he again said no and the homeowner is having his family and friends that i don;t know who they are puting bad reviews on me Consumer Response /* (3000, 14, 2022/02/05) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The quality of your response is exactly what I expected. I only wish I would have seen a similar review prior to hiring you, as I now know the quality of your work is the same. I have hired another company to completely tear out your work and what a difference it made. We now have a bathroom that we are proud to show off. Mark doesn't know how to take personal responsibility for his work and will not admit to his own faults; he simply prefers to blame others. I'm still waiting for the $1000 he told me he would refund me, but given his character I won't hold my breathe. Business Response /* (4000, 16, 2022/02/07) */ u would not let come back and look at the bathroom and fix how can i take responsibility when u would not let me fix the shower and look at it how do u that u didn;t take picture of someone else . My pictures don;t look like yours .all u had to do will let me come and fix the problems and we would not dealing with this now Consumer Response /* (4200, 18, 2022/02/08) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) When I came to your house to meet you man to man in ordered to get $1000 back. You stormed out to meet me in an irate fashion, you insulted me and blamed the issue on me. Why would I want to work anymore with someone who acts in that nature. You are the definition of unprofessional, and I'm betting on anyone who continues to read your responses will agree. I would like the $1000 that you told me to drive all the way up to your house for back.
