Very happy with the staff at Drain Mechanics in ********. From the friendly voice on the phone to the service tech who completed my work, everyone was helpful and genuinely cared about my situation. The staff helped us through a previous plumbers error at a reasonable price. I will recommend Drain Mechanics to my friends and family.Review from Carolyn F

I just called Drain Mechanics out for a stopped up sewer pipe. They were able to come out the same day, but I feel definitely overcharged. The initial estimate was $185 to basically snake the drain. We ended up paying $550. $185 for clearing the drain, $195 to remove the toilet (no one asked us if the extra charge was OK or even tried to snake through the toilet that I knew about), and extra $150/hour for "extra time" plus some minor charges for other stuff.I'm going to invest in *************** snake and learn how to use it. This was a Real Rip Off in my book. Never again!
UPDATE:
As an update, Drain Mechanics did contact me after I wrote my review on this website and refunded the $195 they charged to lift my toilet up.

We are so sorry that this happened and we were unaware of this situation, we reached to ***************************** immediately and spoke with her, we went ahead and refunded the additional costs as we were very upset to find out that she felt this way, we were under the impression she was happy with the work. She explained everything to us and we made it right with her.
She wants to 100% REMOVE THIS REVIEW!! We have both emailed and contacted the BBB and are trying to get this removed.
Please call her to verify, or email her to verify this is true.

I got a New septic system installed and these people went above and beyond. It took FOREVER to get my permit back but as soon as they did they were out here installing my system. The install guys were so knowledgeable and taught me some things to keep up with my system. This company has been so kind and patient with my angry calling and needing pump outs. I couldn't recommend a better company than this one.Review from Sylvia D

This company y rips people off daily! From the girls inthe office that answer the phone and schedule your call (supposedly, then you call because tech never arrived and they say oh and emergency came up ....not once but 3 times) then they over charge like crazy and when they come out and break stuff they take no ownership and do not repair! Biggest joke of a company ! Do not use drain mechanics llcReview from Sandy L

Drain Mechanics, LLC of Palm Bay, Fl has always come through for my family. They do it all-small to large jobs, and septics, too. Residential and new construction. Their prices are very reasonable and they walk you through the problem & tell you the best option. I’m a very satisfied customer. S.LapeReview from Diane M

Drain Mechanics was hired in 2021 to replace drain field and septic tank. 5/2021 work was done. Cost Aprox. $10,000. 1 1/2 years later, drain field FAILED. This had also been approved by The County. So Jan. 2023 I start the battle of WHO IS AT FAULT, WHO IS GOING TO PAY FOR THE NEW DRAIN FIELD. Well, $9,315 later, my husband and I paid to have this fixed., Please keep in mind Drain Mechanics only warranties for 1 YEAR. They tried to charge me for 10 loads of sand, after the fact (thank God for pictures and the RING, showing 8 deliveries), The also Charged me for $315 for using a credit card....Really, I know where my bank is and how to pull cash... I questioned the owner about the $315 at first he agreed and would reimbursed. Later on, he said I agreed to it, and had a recording of me doing so......NOT I was never advised of this....all I can say, is the front yard is still a mess, and I can just say DO NOT USE DRIAN MECHANICS.... oh I will say the guys who pumped the tank are most likely the best of their staff, the rest, well I have no nice words.Drain Mechanics LLC Response

Of course, Mrs. ***** is leaving out the main facts here, her system was installed in 2021 where Drain Mechanics issued several discounts and multiple add-ons free of charge, even though stated in her signed contract these things could happen and they would be her responsibility. There are too many to cover but one of the main ones was the very large tree right in the middle of the drain field that was her responsibility to remove, we spent two days removing this for her and did not charge her. Once her system was complete we had to issue several discounts in order to receive final payment. She also required sod in order to complete and chose to bring in an outside contractor who drove an 8,000++ pound machine on top of the new drain field, so yes of course it failed. Additionally, her soils required an excavation that the health dept. never called for. ***So the facts here are that she did NOT pay for this new drain field, Drain Mechanics paid for the entire job and the health department waived the permitting costs due to their oversite during the site evaluation and soil borings. The only charges Mrs. ***** paid for were the new sand and haul-off required from her original job that she never paid for! We understand the inconvenience and of course, apologized although we should not have, she was told not to drive over, or park on the drain field and they still did, which forced failure. An even greater picture here is her signed contract clearly stating 1-year warranty, as you see she also stated she was out of warranty. So her message above should read: Even though I destroyed my new drain field, AND I was out of warranty, Drain Mechanics still stepped up to the plate and incurred all the costs to replace my system minus the new sand that I originally needed and never paid for. This review should be redone and placed as a 5-star review. No company will do this just to please a customer who refuses payment at every corner, bullies everyone on site, and makes it very difficult to complete their work. Mrs. ***** signed the new contract that included everything but the sand, she also paid for it by credit card where we clearly stated (and it was recorded on audio with her consent) that she would have to pay the credit card fee or bring cash or check. She chose to get her credit card rewards and pay via credit card. Then later bullied us into refunding the money back to her because she lied and said that we never told her about the fee. We hired an outside hauling contractor to haul the sand to her property for this new drain field that she got for free. The contractor billed us for 10 loads and showed us pictures and proof of each and every load he dropped off. (we know this because we had to argue with him that Mrs. ***** stated he only brought 8 when he is billing for 10) We paid the contractor in full for the 10 loads and got bullied once again by Mrs. ***** who manipulated us into only paying for 8 loads, stating that she has a ring doorbell that has proof, well of course her ring doorbell only recorded what she wanted to show. She never did show proof and did not have the other times recorded with proof of no loads delivered, obviously, the hauling contractor did not fake pictures and lie and steal for two loads of sand, but anything is possible, so once again Drain Mechanics paid out of pocket for the difference. Unfortunately, we accepted this loss out of pure helpfulness, the job was done and completed and her warranty was up, leaving us with no obligation to do the work, or help at all, we chose to stand behind it anyways and pay for the entire project minus the sand that the health dept failed to call for excavation, because they aren't going to pay for it and we didn't want to leave a previous customer without a working system even though she damaged the drain field herself. The health dept. also stated how compacted the drain field was due to the machinery driven directly on top of it. Also clearly stated in the contract is that we would have to damage the yard to install the new system, she was well aware and accepted that she would need sod replacement once we were complete. She still has not replaced this sod, and is now stating the yard is still a mess? All she has to do is simply install the sod that she was required to install anyways, agreed and signed to take care of that am yet has not. It's upsetting that our efforts and extra expenses were not recognized although we did this only to help, but at the least, all the facts should be stated if she is taking her time to leave a bad review. We understand we can not make everyone happy, but in the end, her system is brand new at our expense and our complete option to have done so.Customer Response

1- the tree and the ball route was removed by Family Roots Tree Service. Eric did a great job as he brought in a person with the machine to grind the route. This just goes to show that started the lies. Drain Mechanic had nothing to do with removal of the tree or roots and I have pictures to show the company as they did the work. Why wouldn’t Drain Mechanic do tree work? They are not a tree removal company. 2-the side was on a trailer on the street and wheelbarrow into the backyard and laid by hand, which was also done by Family Roots tree service again I have pictures 3-wow $9040 for sand and haul off. He must really think I’m a fool and you forgot I do have copies of all your bills. 4-Again no one drove over the drainfield 5-the only five star review I would give this company is for the amount of BS that he has written in his review. 6-if you consider me sitting and taking pictures as the work was being done well then I guess I’m the bully 7-there was nothing recorded as I was never told I would be charged a fee for using a credit card. I do know my way to the bank and I often pay contractors by check or cash. also Drain Mechanic demanded payment upfront before he would even start to work in full 8- this really makes no sense. Have you seen what rewards are offered at the bank for using a credit card yes Josh I need it 10% off at Arby’s and chose that and then let you charge me 315 for using a credit card shaking my head I guess I’m not a good bully, as I have never received the fee back as YOU said I would 9-as far as the loads of sand delivered you show me your pictures and I’ll show you mine. It was a total of eight loads so if you paid him for two additional that’s on you I’m not just referring to the ring camera. I took pictures as the loads were finished being delivered. 10-you can’t even get a car to the backyard, so how did I do this myself again no one drove over the old drainfield however, I do know Josh you should stay off your equipment as you did backing to and knocked a large section out of my neighbors wouldn’t remember that 11-and I don’t know why you keep talking about the Sod. The conversation was held with the county inspector and my husband as to what our plans are for the backyard. You never had the drainage ditch in the front of the house properly cleaned up from where you left all the sand out so we will take care of that also, and yes, I do have pictures of that also. 12-so if I paid for was saying why was the bill I paid you were a total of $9040 +315 for using a credit card I will learn my portion of my replies by simply saying if anyone wants to deal with your company it’s their choice if I had only known how dishonest you have been, I would have never hired you in 2021 then perhaps with better research on my end I would have chosen a company that in fact knew how to correctly install a drainfield and a septic tank.Review from David D.

We had called in an emergency on 4/18/23 in the evening, my 85yo grandmother renter to turn water off to whole home. Business Sent rep out on 4/19 mid afternoon and was unable to quote price and referred to business/supervisor, said we would receive a quote that evening or next day 4/20. Called 4/20 noon and was told we would get quote that evening or on 4/21. We decided to call another business. Called back to Drain Mechanics on 4/21 morning was told they had been dealing with emergencies and would have quote within hour or in Monday 4/24. We still have not heard back from this business. Not sure what constitutes an emergency with them but I would never recommend this place. Also they have blocked the community from providing negative feedback to all anyone will ever see from this place is positive reviews which is wrong. I sure hope they still do not plan on sending us the $149 service call bill as we still have not heard from them.Drain Mechanics LLC Response

Hello David, as our service department supervisor I have reached out to you because there was a conflict with the email address that was provided, either we wrote it down wrong, or it was provided to us wrong. But we provided your 85-year-old grandmother with a FREE estimate, there is no charge for estimates, so we are confused about where the $149 service call fee is coming from that you mentioned. For clarification, our service call fee is $85. We are deeply apologetic that your free estimate was sent to the wrong email address and you did not receive it. When you called on 4/20 and 4/21 it was resent and we were under the impression that you received it. I called and spoke to you personally and we figured out what happened. I have since sent you the estimate. By all means, we are not the cheapest company so it's possible you wanted to go with another provider and we respect your decision. But you were not ignored, and we are very very sorry that you feel that way, we take customer service very seriously, we do understand that we can not make everyone happy, but we surely do our best. We spent our gas, labor, time, and resources to provide you with a free estimate, including a home visit, it was an honest mistake that we had the incorrect email address. We have apologized and can hope that you will forgive us for this mishap and that one day we can have the opportunity to make it up to you. I have emailed you several times to follow up since we spoke. Please feel free to reach out to me personally day or night. Thank you.Customer Response

Additional comment on personal review: I agree that you the business, have personally reached out to me and have expressed your apology of the communication mishap, however I do recall our conversation regarding the call out for estimate and was specifically told by your receptionist on the initial call of a $149 fee (if services sought, would be deducted from invoice) and you telling me that you have waived this fee and will not bill because of the communication mishap. I hope that any future business will be carried out with the better communication process' you had discussed with me over the phone. I wish nothing but the best for you and your company.Review from A Camaro Guy

We just had our septic tank pumped out by Drain Mechanics, they are just now leaving the front of our house. Robbie E. and Josh C. were the two employees who showed up for the service call. This company has two awesome, polite, helpful and very professional employees. They took the time to explain what they were going to do and showed me that my tank actually has to sections to it (I'm the type who wants to know what's going on so I can be better educated on topics) and explained how the system works. Thank you Drain Mechanics, I will recommend your company to anyone I meet who may need your services.
