I'm completely and extreme disappointment with the way state street property Management have handled my security deposit refund. As a former tenant, I am entitled to the return of my security deposit partial since I know that was some reparations that needs to be completed. However they took in full the security deposit alleging a lot of issues that needs to be covered by them since was as long as I have fulfilled my obligations under the lease agreement. However, they have failed to provide me with an explanation as to why they have not returned even a partial amount of my deposit.They are very unprofessional at the moment to deal with you by phone, they are also so rude in the way that they answer your calls, or simple they never respond yo you. They also, charge amounts for reparation's with consulting you as a tenant, plus those amounts are ridiculous exaggerated. They just sent an email staying that the property was not returned in the same conditions when not one did a initial walked trout or ending walked through with me as a tenant and now they want to keep a double security deposit just because yes. I took great care to ensure that the apartment was left in good condition. The fact that they have charged me in full of my deposit is outrageous and unjustified. I need an explanation of the cost that they charge for the "apparently damages" of the property. Its imperative that they justify the amounts and at least return a partial amount of the security deposit. Also,. they charge me for a glass illegally before to move that needs to be removed form the amounts that they want to charge since not one has the courtesy to let me know that amount for that reparation. I also request that they provide me with receipts and other documentation to support any charges that they have made against me, and with prices that are normal standards for those reparations that are the living room blinds and remove a mirror from the property. I don't accept other charges since the property was cleaned in full by a company that I paid, and the bathtub is part of the damages for utilized the bathtub for a year, they can not charge for the pain of that.Initial Complaint

Our ac unit went out on July 19 2023 and was not fixed until August 2 2023. And for those two weeks we were in a major heat advisory in *******, temperatures reached well over 100 degrees in the apartment, in which we had to take measures to try and keep cool, we spent money on fans, room stays .. and gas for sleeping in car.. we reached out numerous times with no response. We are asking to take $200 off payment even though we spent more we just want some type justice for the overwhelming heat we had to endure with no help or response from rental companyInitial Complaint

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with the way state street property Management have handled my security deposit refund. As a former tenant, I am entitled to the return of my full deposit as long as I have fulfilled my obligations under the lease agreement. However, they have failed to provide me with an explanation as to why they have only returned a partial amount of my deposit.Furthermore, their unprofessional and rude behavior towards me when I have tried to inquire about the status of my refund is unacceptable. their staff have been evasive and have avoided my calls, which has only added to my frustration.In addition, I must point out that they have also charged me for water usage despite the fact that my lease agreement clearly stated that I was not responsible for paying for water. This is a breach of contract and is unacceptable.Furthermore, I would like to point out that normal wear and tear is allowed by the state of ******* and I took great care to ensure that the apartment was left in good condition. The fact that they have charged me half of my deposit is outrageous and unjustified.I urge you to rectify this situation immediately by returning the remainder of my security deposit along with a detailed explanation as to why it was withheld. In the month of January I rented an apartment located at **************** a walk thru was conducted and the property agent took notes of all that needed repairs a $1500 deposit was paid, on my move in date found tat nothing had been repaired ha no choice but to move The refrigerator is in bad shape, the stove is not operable, the a/c is not cooling, the bathroom floor tile is loose etc. I have contacted the management company and the property association and nothing has been done I am a single mother with a 5 year daughter I cannot even cook a meal because of the hazardous stove conditions or sleep at night due to the a/c not working properly I have spend all my savings moving into the place over $5000, this is giving me so much stress that is causing the skin problem that I suffer from to get worst, please her I am providing the phone number for my mom, I work and this situation is affecting my job performance, please HELP!Initial Complaint

This complaint is about State Street Property Management (SSPM) and I am a tenant living in ******************** at ****************************************. I pay a monthly rent of $2650 and can provide the lease, which states: SSPM resolves all issues related to appliances. I have paid rent early every month and taken great care of the unit. I placed a service requests for a broken dishwasher and washing machine over the last 12 months, as SSPM purchases second-hand, poor condition appliances that break frequently. These appliances have been broken for durations of 3 months before being replaced with another secondhand appliance to be broken again and repeat the cycle. I have lived in this unit without proper appliances replaced by SSPM for at least a combined 8 months. I always coordinate the appointments with the technicians that they work with, and I regularly update SSPM but they never answer me and the appliances don't get repaired. Every time one breaks (dishwasher or washing machine) it takes a minimum of 2 months for SSPM to "resolve the issue". For example, they have replaced a broken dishwasher, 3 months later, with another one that broke 8 weeks later and resulted in a ***** infestation, because the used dishwasher had ***** nests inside. Most recently, my washer has been flooding the kitchen since June 2022, and my dishwasher has been leaking/out of service since May 2022. Additionally all of the leaking from the broken appliances, has caused water damage and mold to grow which poses a health concern to me. As per the lease agreement, I have done everything required of me as a tenant, however SSPM has repeatedly failed to uphold their end of the contract as it pertains to appliances. I believe I deserve credits to my rent at the minimum. I have recorded all of the leaking issues, water damages, and email exchanges as well.Initial Complaint

We moved into our apartment in 2017. In 2019, we were informed that this company would be the new property managers. Everything was fine until we decided to move. We did not break the lease. There were no damages to the place. We were told by the property manager that we would receive our security deposit. Days passed, weeks passed, months passed. They kept giving us the run around. Would give us different numbers to call. Then they stopped answering our messages, emails, phone calls. We moved out in October 2020. It is May 2022 and STILL have never received our security deposit them. We call, email, and text. They either don't answer their phone or ignored our emails and messages. I would like to speak with someone who will finally give me my deposit back. Based on the reviews online, I am not the only person that they have done this to. This is unprofessional.
