On 3/21/22, Craig's Perfect Turf Landscaping, planted shrubs in my backyard, which I am not questioning, not 100% pleased, but the front yard is why I am filing this complaint. I was charged $2,802.64 for one Pygmy palm, one bird of paradise, two Texas Sage, two pink Dracaena, staples, weed barrier, black plastic edging and 2 3/4 yards of river rock. Many emails had been exchanged with his company from 12/21 in an attempt to clarify what was wanted and what the final project would be. I had stressed that I wanted to add color to off set the very bright white painted house. I had his employees take back 24 small green plants, as that was not going to be attractive. I made many attempts via emails and even stated that I wanted us to be on the same page. There seemed to be confusion or a lack of reading my emails throughout the entire procedure. What I was left with was a blinding reflective mess of river rock in my front yard and the six shrubs/plants. The landscaping in the front, looked much better before Craig's disappointing job. I paid in full, because I was having a medical procedure completed and wanted to make sure he was paid, in case I would be physically unable to pay him later. I requested an itemized bill for the front yard job. i was told by the GM, Jody B., that Craig would do that. I requested to only correspond with Craig due to Ms ******** negative and demeaning attitude towards me. I received no direct response from Craig. I then requested to have the river rock removed and a refund. I received a response that the rock would not be removed and there would be no refund. I am requesting a $1,000 refund, as the quality of the landscaping was poor at least and that I was drastically overcharged. On the FL Department of State, Official Business Entity, Sunbiz. It lists a tax ID number. He advertises that he is licensed. He does not have a residential landscaping license. This was confirmed by Charlotte County Certified Licensing Investigator.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/05/06) */ First of all, Craigs Perfect Turf Landscaping has all the necessary county tax receipts, insurance and workers comp. We are not required to have the Florida State Landscaping License. We gave her an estimate, in that first estimate it listed Tan River rock. She asked for many changes/revisions along the way but never asked for us to change the color of the rock. As far as the plants, after the job she was emailed, the revised price reflecting the plants not used. They were small plants, so the credit was not I guess what she was expecting. As far as communication with this homeowner, there were over 45 emails between us and her. As well as her visiting our Nursery several times. All the communication was there. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/05/09) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) No, I do not accept it. I had to spend additional out of pocket money to improve upon his poor landscaping project. They should not advertise and give false information that they are licensed when the business does not have a residential landscaping license. At the bottom of his advertisement, he states "you'll be happy". He would not directly respond to me, or give me a detailed itemized account of the charges. I was never contacted by Craig, as requested. He does not conduct his business in an honest and truthful manner. There is a true lack of communication between either himself, his General Manager or both, with customers. It is not unusual to have changes when discussing a landscaping order. I've used a landscaper elsewhere in FL and had no difficulties with that business. I was never given an option to use a different color river rock, nor was that question ever responded to or confirmed, if there was going to be river rock. I visited the nursery, especially to look at the different curbing options that Craig added to review closer to the installation date. The curbing is six months behind schedule, which he never admitted to. And again, my questions about the project were Never fully addressed in the emails, which resulted in additional emails, which wouldn't have needed to be sent, if my questions and directions of what I had chosen had been answered. Craig's lack of design in relation to my house and Not responding to all of my emails, was the problem, not that 45 emails had been exchanged, if there were 45. I was overcharged for the whole project. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/05/10) */ Again, we do not advertise we have the State of Florida Landscaping License. You only need that license to work on Commercial buildings. You do not need that license to do residential landscaping. You only need the county tax receipt, which makes you license to work in your area. So, we are not giving any false information to anybody. Craig conducts his business with truth and honor. It is normal to have changes in estimates along the way, but it's not normal to have a customer state they did not think they were getting a rock when it was in the original estimate. You only asked us to take out things you didn't like, you never asked us to remove the rock because it will not "go with your house". For you to say you never had an option to use a different color is false. If you would have said you don't like Tan, then he would have suggested another color. Just like you told us to take things out of the estimate that you didn't like. Your argument doesn't make sense, why would you ask us to change/remove items from the original estimate but just assume we would take out the rock? And I'm really confused on your curbing remark? We are not 6 months out on doing any curbing. Maybe you were talking about custom wall block? That is made to order and is 3 months out? I don't understand why we are going back and forth with this issue, especially on this website? It not going to change anything. It's important to read your contract closely so you know what you are getting so it doesn't come to this. We follow the contract so if the contract said to install tan river rock our crew installed tan river rock. If the contract said to remove/not use certain plants, then etc.. etc.. You had a copy of the contract. Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2022/05/11) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Obviously the responses are not from Craig. I can assume who is responding and again, is refusing to face the facts and stating things that I did not say. I stated they list they are licensed. I copied and included it from his webpage. It's on his website. They overcharged, he refuses to itemize the costs, they made no attempts to rectify that a customer was not pleased with the landscaping project they did. There were many times when my questions received NO response. I was never given the option of a different color of river rock. I have all the emails and none state an option of different color river rock. This is pure harassment and just shows that I assume, is Jody B., responding, how customers are treated. I was told by their employee, they began to make their own curbing and were six months behind on projects. I'd love to see what surprise contract you come up with, mail me a copy. Yes, We are having an exchange because I requested to only converse with Craig and he never responded. Your responses will do a lot to give a heads up to possible future customers, to look for a different landscaper.
