Dealing with the manager ***** at Crunch was a thoroughly unprofessional and unsatisfactory experience. He repeatedly refused to tell me who he reported to or where I could direct (via email or telephone) an appeal or a complaint. He said there was "no one" and told me to look at the Crunch website myself. I asked for a name (as he must report to someone!) in corporate or the owner of the gym and he said "no". The conversation remained calm but he just kept repeating the same frustrating responses, as if he was AI! I ran a large worldwide customer service team for a luxury fashion brand for many years and I understand well the challenges of working with people who are trying to resolve an issue, but this was a completely negative experience where I did not feel valued or respected as a customer, or as a person. I explained how my two teens (16 and 18 years old) came in to downgrade their membership after an initial 3 months at the higher rate back in April of 2022 (and referred to the signed documentation in both cases), but to my dismay, I had recently discovered that all of this time, they were still both charged at the higher rate. I had had an injury and subsequent surgery so did not come in with them, but they correctly filled out all they needed to. However, at no point were they told that they had to pay money on the spot to change their membership or the documentation was invalid. Both were on autopay out of my accounts and any charge (although, again, never explained by the staff member) could have been deducted. ***** made no effort to come to a negotiation or apologize for the inconvenience, but rather preferred to point out how I was wrong and he was right and that was just how it was. I am left having been overcharged on two memberships for over a year and a disagreeable and disrespectful interaction with a manager, who should seek to represent Crunch and that particular gym in a positive way. Unbelievably bad experience all the way around.

Beware of Crunch Gym - Misrepresentation, bad customer ******************** cancelling I am writing to warn people about my experience with Crunch Gym which is located on Bee Ridge Road. My son joined Crunch in Sarasota, ******* in 2022. He made sure that his membership could be used in other states as he was moving to **************. He was told that this was possible, so he joined.When he moved to DC in January 2023, he was able to successfully use his membership for one month. However, on the second month, he was suddenly told that he could not use the gym in DC. This was completely false, and he was induced to enter the contract based on a misrepresentation.Since then, he has tried to terminate his contract for two months. He has visited the gym in person three times, but the customer service has been atrocious. He has been promised that calls would be returned by managers, but they never have. He has called the central hotline, but they have only referred him to the website. He has also sent emails, but he has not received any responses.As a result, he has incurred costs for 5 months (they will terminate him at June) that he has not been able to use the gym. I am so unhappy with Crunch Gym's policies and customer service that I am also canceling my account there.I urge people to be very careful before joining Crunch Gym. They have a history of misrepresenting their services and making it difficult for people to cancel their contracts. If you are considering joining Crunch Gym, I urge you to read the contract carefully and be sure to ask questions about any terms that you do not understand.I hope that by sharing my experience, I can help others avoid the same problems that we have had.Sure, here is a warning to people not to be deceived by Crunch Gym:

I am very disappointed with this location and management. There is conflicting information in the contract, which I would suggest everyone read very carefully because you are basically signing away any rights you have. The contract states right at the top under the Automatic Renewal Program section "Renewal terms may be cancelled at any time provided a 10-day written notice is delivered to the club's address". I tried to cancel over the phone weeks ago but they said I had to come in to cancel. I finally got around to going in and canceling today at the location, they day of my credit card billing, and I was informed that in addition to being charged today, they would also be charging me again in a month (30 days). They claim there is a 30 day notice requirement. Since I was charged today this is actually 30 days notice. The 30 day notice is in direct contradiction to the 10-day notice requirement. In reviewing the website and documentation, I was unable to find a cancelation form so apparently although the state the notice should be deliver to "the club's address", no form is provided for this purpose. When you call they say go into the location and do not offer a form.Aside from the very unreasonable contract and contradiction, I have found the employees unhelpful with any membership related concerns. They have removed classes that I used to attend and now they offer very limited number of classes that I am interested in.I tried to contract both corporate and the location through the website about issues and received no response. I would not recommend crunch fitness to anyone!

Upon the advice of my friends I decided to join them to workout together at Crunch Fitness on Bee Ridge Rd. I went for a free session and enjoyed it so much that I decided to join on Friday 2/24/23. This morning of Sunday 2/26/23 as we were working out together a lady personal trainer approached my friend very rudely and threatened her of canceling her membership due to her thinking that my friend was training us as we were just working out together and having fun. What should've been a pleasant experience turned out to be a disappointment. My friend has been a member of the gym for 20 years and was very upset at the way she was spoken to and treated. If the gym cancels my friends membership both myself and my other friend who just joined as well will cancel our membership too. Hopefully this will get into the right hands and can be addressed.
