The owner of this ranch booked my birthday event a little over a month in advance. On the day of my birthday I had a party of twelve individuals and I contacted the owner to inform her that we were en route to her ranch. Upon speaking with her, she informed me that she only had one horse to accommodate a party of twelve individuals. She stated that one horse had to be take to the emergency vet which should’ve been communicated the morning of before the start of my horse back riding experience. I told her that I will cancel, but this is something that I really wanted to do for my 40th birthday and the owner was paid in advance. So I proceeded to the ranch and once there we were met with an unkept ranch, an unmowed lawn, broken down vehicles in the front and on the side, mattresses and strollers out in the front and the smell of bm. The owner stated that we wasted her time and failed to refund me. Had it been communicated prior, I would’ve booked another ranch to accommodate my party. I booked this ranch based on prior experiences due to field trips that we take with the school. Unfortunately it’s definitely not the same ranch; I’m sure it’s under new management. I simply would like to refunded for a service that wasn’t rendered.Initial Complaint

**** ****** requested I pay her in full for a birthday party on July 23 2023 for my daughters **** birthday party. We traveled here from ****** ** in order for my family and friends to be able to come. I confirmed Sunday morning was the party still going on and she said yes rain, sleet, or snow. However exactly 2 hours prior before the party start she text “Hey, I am so sorry to have to do this but I have to take my cat to the emergency vet. He was just run over and my ******* saw it. I will be refunding your entire payment but I am going to have to cancel. I am on my way to the vet and will be stopping by the bank once I drop him off if he survives and sending you your payment. Also will be gifting you a free party. I am so sorry. Our worlds are shattered right now“and then “Let me work something out, hold on I am not going to be able to be here. I have a ******* ***** ******* who is absolutely hysterical. I am sorry. I can't make arrangements for someone else to do it. I have to refund you.“ I responded “Are you sending the funds right now? Hello I will need the funds to pay for some where else NOW ma'am I don't have any time I need to tell my family and friends where to go I confirmed the party after you confirmed this morning. She stated “Yes ma'am drive now and will. Send right away New phone no idea how to voice text on it, give me 30 mins” and then seven hours later she text Ma'am. I sincerely apologize for all of this. I have to wait until I can get to an open bank. I will send as soon as they open. In no way shape or form do I want to cause you any harm. I can't give you excuses, just my honest word. My day fell apart and I didn't get much done due to my own personal stuff. I understand completely why you are upset and if I could change it I would. So I am doing all I can. My banking stuff, phone number, etc is all messed up and I unfortunately don't have any way of getting this to you until I can cash my checks tomorrow morning and deposit my funds.Initial Complaint

Paid for horse riding lessons for my daughters and never received them. The owner kept making excuses as to why she was not available and then will not give me my money back.
