Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2022/07/20) */ This response was given verbally to BBB: This customer changed the scope of the contract mid-job. We have performed all work on the second floor of the home, and the work on the first floor still needs to be done. However, the customer is significantly behind on paying for the job. We will not continue work until she pays her next draw. She has paid approximately $28K of the approximate $67K owed for the work. Also, we have done no work that requires a license (no plumbing, electrical, etc). Consumer Response /* (3000, 9, 2022/07/21) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) there has been no change to the contract and non of the job was completed upstairs. bathroom is not in working conditions no work was completed job was paid 90% none of the work completed no materials no work. work that was done had to be redone because nothing was done properly. I have proof the job was not completed. How can you add to the contract whe you didn't not completed one project. you can't expect payment for something that was not completed. there is no balance due, please provide proof of recipes for material and picture of completion. not one project was completed.Initial Complaint

Mr, M***** made himself out to be a general contractor that could take care of a precautionary copper piping replacement and conviced me that the drains also needed to be replaced. I had the title company cut him the deposit with the understanding that the work would begin when I closed on the property. Thirty days after closing he had not started or given me the scope of work details that I requested nor a contract so I told him the deal was off. He insisted on starting without paperwork and went in trying to adver the firing, did a couple hours of work, removing cabinet drawers and left. Five days later no sho I fired him permenantly. Good thing. When I hired a reputable plumbing company they told ne the there was absolutely nothing wrong with the drains and I was being ripped off. The drains are schedule 40 PVC and in perfect shape. Because he was not only not qualified for the job, he lied and did not do the work, nor in a reasonable amount of time after taking my money, I would like a full refund.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2022/07/20) */ This response was provided verbally to BBB: I have not done work for this customer. His title company sent me a check for $3,000, however I did not cash it. I've informed the title company and consumer this. Consumer Response /* (3000, 13, 2022/08/08) */ Hi I did not see a response on this case until now. This individual is a pathelogical liar. He received 50% deposit on a $7000 job. He cashed the first half, and did not do the work. the check he referred to is the second half of the job that I held onto. Yes the title company called him and asked why he did not cash the second $3500 check, not the first one. I have asked them for evidence of his deposit. Consumer Response /* (3000, 17, 2022/08/17) */ ***Document Attached*** Mr. M*****'s last reply, he stated that he did not have a contract, or receive a check, and no check was cashed. Please see the attached copy of his invoice, the check, and the proof that it hit his bank account. I have enclosed clear evidence that not only is he unethical, but he is also a pathological liar and should not be allowed to do business with the public. In addition, you will see that he wrote a check to me for a settlement, then simultaneously put a stop payment on the check.
