I have claimed a fraud and location of an insurance check that was sent out and as mortgage company advised I signed and sent check to mortgage company. Never saw the deposit in my escrow and when I called lighthouse to advised them they said check was cashed we never cashed it. Stated it was cashed I have asked several times to locate check and whom cashed it no response at all need help locating check for my refund. ThanksInitial Complaint

In May 2022 our Lighthouse condo insurance was suddenly cancelled. We had just renewed in February 2022 for the entire year and a refund should have been received but not as of today 3/19/2023. Tried to contact them to no avail. I hope someone can help with this.Initial Complaint

Lighthouse insurance closed shortly after my escrow account with guild mortgage paid the annual insurance premium. Lighthouse has not reimbursed the escrow account so now guild mortgage is charging me for the shortfall. I didnt lapse in coverage so obtained another annual policy which was paid and put the escrow account in negative balance. ***** has now audited the escrow account and determined I owe them the balance. Is there any way to get lighthouse to reimburse what I have paid? The close of business letter I received indicated 90 days and we are well past that time frame at this point. Policy holder: Lighthouse Property Insurance Policy number: LAHB008511 Refund amount: $1894 Date mortgage company paid: 06/06/22 Mortgage company: Planet Home Lending Ive called the number ************* at least 10 times. Nobody gives me ANY information. They cant even answer if money is on the way or not. I ask to talk to a supervisor and they wont even let me do that because the supervisor is not available. I feel like Ive gotten scammed. Now my mortgage payment next month has gone up 50% thats huge! I can not afford this and need my refund asap.Initial Complaint

I sold my house May 26, 2022. Lighthouse was dissolved May 28, 2022. I have contacted the ***** several times regarding my premium refund. To date, they tell me they have received nothing from Lighthouse for my policy number. My policy renewed at the end of February, so I should be due a nine month premium refund. I understand the company is in liquidation, but this length of time seems excessive and a bit concerning that the ***** has no record from Lighthouse regarding my policy.Initial Complaint

I was informed that effective 7/01/2022, my policy with Lighthouse Insurance was being cancelled due to liquidation. I have been given the run around, as I have tried to collect the remaining balance of my escrow payment for insurance coverage up to 11/01/22.Business response

Consumer Response /* (3000, 5, 2022/08/18) */ I received an insurance refund check from Lighthouse Excalibur Insurance Company in the mail today for the unused portion of my annual insurance payment from my escrow account resulting from the company's liquidation. We cancelled our insurance with Lighthouse effective February 11, 2022 and we are due a refund. We were originally told it would take 30 days but we have been waiting for months with no resolve and the only thing we hear is, the company has been liquidated and the NCIGA hasn't received our account info "yet". I called the number for NCIGA who is doing the insolvency but you cannot get anyone on the phone. We sent them a copy of our cancellation which has the amount and any other info they need, our account with lighthouse is LNMXXXXXXX. We just want the amount that is owed to us.Initial Complaint

Good afternoon, I cancelled my policy on 4 April 2022. I have not received a refund of $3,656.00 as if today. I have had to finance the amount with my mortgage company. This needs to be resolved so I can make affordable mortgage payments. Please help me! I have sent an email to NC insurance company and they gave me no resolution. Account: **************** Loss Date: 8/29/21 Claim Reported: 8/31/21 Issue: Underpaid for loss due to Hurricane Ida Damages at Residential Home Lighthouse Excalibur will not respond to resolve the issue. Claim was reported on 8/31/21. After contacting the company 3x a day every week an inspector was sent to my home on 10/19/21. On 11/25/21 a settlement letter was sent through email. I contacted the Field Pro Direct claims examiner to notify him that $18,016.10 wouldn't be enough for all of the damages done to my home from hurricane Ida. I was told to contact the company after the money was spent if more was needed. I sent in copies of the documents to show what repairs was completed and an estimate of what was needed to finish repairs and replacement at my home. I contacted Fields Pro Direct who thanked me for contacting them. The company notified me that they no longer handle claims for Lighthouse and sent all of my documents over to their claims department. I haven't heard from Lighthouse since December when the company notified me that my policy has increased. Sent in the payment because I didn't want to be without homeowners insurance assuming my issues would be resolved. NOTHING! My house continues to get damaged because the exterior is exposed and it's causing more damage, which will cost more money for repairs. These repairs will add on to my replacement cost. Exterior: Roof, Siding, Fascia, and gutter. Interior: 6 rooms - Ceilings, Walls and floors. With the money I received I was only able to get the master bedroom and fence completed at the price of $23,500. It will cost at least $50,000 to finish with the repairs and this estimate was given to me from my contractor on 3/9/22. Hopefully that doesn't change. I don't have that kind of money just laying around and fell lost on what to do. Please Help! Mrs. ** ********Business response

A court-appointed receiver is now in charge of operating the company. On Friday, April 29, Lighthouse was ordered liquidated by the court. Based on direction by the Receiver, complaints are not being responded to at this time.
