On October 16th, as scheduled, a representative from Chief Facility Defense arrived 45 minutes late for the appointment. The servicer incorrectly identified the piping as polybutylene piping, recommending a complete replacement of the fire suppression system. The entire appointment lasted only 15 minutes, during which the servicer advised me to keep the system turned off when I inquired about repair estimates.Following the appointment, I contacted the business phone to request a quote for the full replacement of the suppression system via email. Despite my request, I did not receive any communication from Chief Facility Defense for over a month.On November 21st, I received an invoice for $495 for the 15-minute appointment, even though no repairs were conducted, and I had not received the requested quote for replacement. Upon disputing the charges, I was informed that I still had to pay $395 for the service. It is essential to note that a subsequent inspection by another company identified the piping as schedule 80 PVC, not polybutylene, and indicated that a repair, not a full replacement, was necessary.As a single mother, I felt compelled to pay the reduced amount of $395 to avoid potential consequences to my credit score, despite the unjust nature of the charges. I strongly believe that Chief Facility Defense's incorrect diagnosis, lack of communication regarding the requested quote, and unjust charges warrant a full refund.I kindly request a thorough review of this matter and a reconsideration of the charges. Additionally, I hope that Chief Fire Protection can make improvements to its practices to avoid such organizational issues in the future.
