      We contracted with Just Decks to tear down and erect a new 2 story deck with underdecking and ceiling fan on April 12, 2023. It is now August 3 and they have not completed the work. We paid Just Decks a $ ****** cashier check to begin the work. My family and I can not use the deck or patio due to numerous construction hazards My partner is a service connected Air Force (**** and *********** War) veteran with a disability (ambulates with assistance device,, mobility issues). Just Decks has refused to rectify the hazardous issues that places my partner and children at risk. Just Decks has stated our concerns are punch items that will be corrected when the project is complete. I have not paid the balance at this time. I have multiple pictures and video that are too large to upload but can be emailed upon request. Here are our concerns and Just Decks response to our concerns:1. The railing to the two story deck steps is loose (literally jiggles when touched) . My family can not use the steps as it is a fall hazard. Just Decks has not addressed. 2. Workers left multiple nails in between deck boards, on patio and surrounding ground. My spouse and children are at risk for injury. Just Decks refuses to utilize device to locate and remove metal construction debris. 3. There are exposed electrical wires for an under deck ceiling fan and upper deck control box. Just Decks states they are trying to schedule an electrician to complete the work. We are 4 months into this project. 4. There are exposed jagged, uneven concrete footings that are a fall / injury hazard.. Just Decks has not addressed this concern. 5. Just Decks buried the control panel for existing outdoor pool lights We are unable to turn on outdoor pool lights. This another fall/ injury hazard. Just Decks has not addressed. 6. Uneven concrete footing spillage on an existing cobble stone walk way, another fall hazard. Just Decks has not addressed.7. Deck steps without fascia. The entire deck has fascia boards, however the steps were not included. I requested Just Decks to coordinate the steps with the rest of the deck by ensuring ********************* with fascia boarding. Just Decks stated they will only stain the exposed composite steps due to risk of rot/ deterioration of the composite deck boards. I do not understand this response. Just Decks refused l to complete this aspect of the project . If the entire deck is covered with composite deck boards and has outer finishing fascia boards, why not the steps? The manufacturer of the composite decking material has a website that shows steps that are covered with fascia boards. I have contacted the manufacturer to intervene. Just Decks is listed as a preferred installer for the manufacturer. 8. Unpainted areas of exposed board. No response from Just Decks.9. Unfinished caps on deck step hand rails. 10. Other construction debris on patio. We have asked Just Decks to complete the work for weeks- even to simply correct/ remove the hazards to the benefit of my disabled partner. We have been quite patient with this company and understanding of punch items. However, we feel Just Decks has drastically minimized the needs of my family and the completion of work on my home for weeks. We understand there are commercial projects that Just Decks may have committed to, but we deserve to be a priority, especially after waiting so long.Enough is enough, we are simply asking Just Decks to complete the work they started 4 months ago.

      This is an ongoing project. Just Decks is still in communication and working with addressing all of the punch list items it is responsible for. There were times that Just Decks could not access the property, because of the customers unavailability. This project will be completed in the shortest time possible.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      It is shameful that Just Decks had stated work is not complete because the consumer was not available. How can a company  blame the consumer for not assigning their own contractors to complete work they initiated? Just Decks could send workers to complete this work  in a two day time frame, but they have refused to expend the manpower. 

      After months of complaining to Just Decks without any action, *****  came to our home on August 14, 2023 (he did not show up for the first requested meeting). We  outlined all the deficient areas. He was accompanied by one of his workers. They placed blue tape on all problem areas. He stated they would order the materials needed to fix/ and or replace problem areas, work would start right away. They removed the pool light panel from the mound of soil on August 14, 2023. 

      An electrician installed the ceiling fan under the deck, he was to return after a transmitter was ordered. The electrician  did not return on the agreed upon date. The electrical wires are still exposed/ fan does not work. 

      Someone thankfully  rolled the area, removed stray nails. 

      Absolutely no other work has been completed. I started to outline all the unfinished areas, but to put simply- no work has been done. They delivered materials on my lawn- but no workers.

      I am seeking a resolution, I am at the point of hiring another contractor to simply complete the work Just Decks started.
