I purchased a truck in********* and have been having issues since. Dealership/owner has been notified. I've had Conversations, emails discussing etc. See attachments. Vehicle is still under a 33 warranty. EGR valve by the warranty has been replaced, dealership put in an aftermarket switch for the door locks and windows right before I purchased, switch is bad and truck can only use a master switch and the ball joints need to be replaced. The warranty only covered the EGR valve which I had to pay $900.01 for the rental and diagnostic fees that the warranty company did not cover. The warranty company wouldn't cover the switch since the dealership just replaced before purchase, dealership wants to have me drive 2 hours 1 way to replace an aftermarket switch that wasn't done correctly in the first place... instead of having the dealership who replaced the EGR valve replace the switch. The warranty would not cover the ball joints but in the contact it says ball joints are covered with no other specs added in the contract. Before the EGR valve went bad, I had went to have a diagnostics done for the ball joints, that was an additional $50. The EGR valve could've been replaced before I purchased if the vehicle had been looked over correctly. The build up doesn't happen 30,60,90 days etc. Initially I was mislead on how to proceed, the owner was getting rude in emails and then the truck shuts down completely on me. Now, I have lost $950.01, the switch still hasn't been replaced because they want me to drive 4 hours there and back instead of having the dodge dealership replace and the ball joints still haven't been replaced. I put down $2500 on this truck. The ball joints itself will cost atleast $1100, the switch itself is around $400 without labor and $900.01 went to fees and a rental which should've been covered since the dealership failed to provide a reliable $37000 truck that I haven't been able to use half the time for personal and work.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/02/07) */ The vehicle is a 10 year old ***********. The warranty we provide is limited. Most Pre-Owned Dealerships do not have any type of warranty at all. While we do an inspection on all of our vehicles, we do not guarantee our Pre-Owned vehicles are without any faults, especially in a 10 year old vehicle that is not our Franchise Brand. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2022/02/09) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The vehicle may be ***********************************. No accidents. No under carrage or under the hood rust. This may not be a dodge dealership but you should have dies mechanics if you're going to sell any type of diesel. Simply looking into the exhaust for any build up could've saved both of us alot of issues. Not to mention the ball joints can be moved by hand and the switch that was put in was an after market and not the correct switch.. only to cut your costs. A *********** truck with ********* for $37k and still trying to cut your cost. Imperfections are to be expected with any used vehicle or new for that matter, this vehicle was either "overlooked" or a "band aid" was put on hoping that I would make it past the 3 month/3,000 mile warranty. Please reread my original complaint and address the complaints. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2022/02/11) */ The notes from the warranty company were as follows: Ok to approve check engine light issue only. Not the suspension or power windows. As was stated earlier, the warranty we provide is free to the customer but it is a limited warranty and **** not cover everything. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact our General Sales Manager, ********** for any further items. Consumer Response /* (3000, 11, 2022/02/16) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I have spoken to the owner, *****, the warranty company, I had even spoke to to your sales representative since week 2 which made this even more delayed because nobody could tell the same story and now here we are. The dealership wouldn't have to provide a free warranty if the vehicles were inspected and had proper techs on hand to begin with. Also, the warranty documents state that everything that was diagnosed with my vehicle would be replaced *no exceptions mentioned.* Now again, the original complaint that was filed needs to be addressed through here instead of being avoided or else I will need to take further action in hopes that your dealership will get their acts together for future potential customers. Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2022/02/16) */ We already fixed the issue with your vehicle shutting down. You were told that we would replace the master switch under the parts warranty at our dealership and you agreed to bring your truck to us. You knew before you had the switch replaced at another dealership that we couldn't pay for another dealership to do it because it is covered under the parts warranty with us. The ball joints are considered normal wear and tear and is not covered by the warranty you signed.
