My daughter is in ***** * ***** ** ************ State University. We are bombarded with statements, saying she owes money, but we have attempted to notify the financing operations person located on the bottom of our statement, but they will not return calls. The one person I did speak to said they had questions about some of the charges we were billed for also, and that they would get someone to reach out to us. No one ever did. We keep getting statement after statement saying she owes money.

My daughter was a member of ***** *** **** at the University of ******** at *******. She changed to unaffiliated status in May of 2023; however, she has continued to receive statements charging for membership fees for the time after she changed to unaffiliated status. She has made every attempt to contact them via phone calls, text messages and emails to remind them she is unaffiliated, and should NOT be billed any more. They have responded to some of her communications stating they would get her status updated. She has been in direct communication with Emily H*** the Financial Vice President at ************* and ********************* However, last week, we received another statement addressed to our daughter ******, as well as my husband ***** and myself stating we owe $339.31 , which includes late fees. The statement says if we don’t pay, we will be turned into a commissioned collection agency. We do o not want this to affect our or our daughter’s credit, as we have done nothing wrong. Please assist us with getting this matter resolved. We have made every effort to resolve this on our own in the last 6 months, but have not been successful.

OmegFi submitted dues to collections and derogatory credit affected credit score. OmegiFi then reviled the dues that were reported as bad debt and late fees accumulated. Under Consumer Credit Protection Act of 1968 you can't send to collections and continue to collect and add late fees. FEderal Trade Commission should also be involved for these illegal debt practices.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/12/30) */ *************************************************************************************************** Hello. We only show one ********* ****** in our system and this person was never sent to collections. Also, OmegaFi is not authorized to request collections for members. That is done by the chapter. If this member was in fact turned over to collections, we will need more information from the member in order to research this further. We will need their name, organization and chapter they are with and any supporting documentation showing they were turned over to collections.

On November 4th, 2021 I received an email from OmegaFi saying that I owe *** ***** *** $242.90 for dues. I have paid *** ***** *** around $2500 in the past(Just a guess, I can look into this more if I am contacted). As an Alumni of this fraternity, I am not committed to paying any sum of money anymore because I am no longer an active member. I am simply looking for *** ***** *** to drop the $242.90 and discontinue these charges in the future. I have tried contacting them by phone, email, and request now. I have also tried to contact members within my chapter with no success. I am unsure of what account, order, tracking number to give you for this.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/12/17) */ Since the chapter created the charges on his account, OmegaFi must get approval from the chapter to reverse the charges. We have reached out to the chapter asking them to review the account and adjust the balance accordingly.
