We purchased a vehicle from Miles Auto in **** ** (not ******* **) in June 2023. ***** ***** told us he had to pay a loan on the truck and would mail us the title within 5 days. He didn’t provide a temporary tag. After repeated calls & texts over a month, the title clerk finally mailed the title. It was not a clean title. The title was still in the name of the original ** dealership where ***** ***** (the owner) purchased the vehicle. His title clerk ********* out Miles Auto dealership name and wrote in our name and mailed the title to us two months after we purchased the vehicle. They ghosted us when we told them that the ** *** refused to register the title because they had skipped the title. It took us another month to get the ** dealership to get a notarized affidavit of correction. Even after this, ***** ***** had to be pressured with many phone calls by the ***** ****** ********** ***** and the ******* *** ************ and even the **** ** ****** ********** to deliver a clean title to us. In addition to attempting to skip the title, ***** ***** then tried to get out of paying the ** title Seller Transfer Taxes. A**in, after repeated calls from the Judge and the **** *** *** ************, he finally relented and paid the $648 transfer tax. His part time title clerk finally priority mailed the title to us so that we could register the vehicle properly in **. We heard from the **** *** that ***** ***** has avoided seller transfer taxes with other buyers and that some buyers had to pay the transfer taxes themselves in order to get their vehicle registered. We are reporting him to the ** ********* ** ***** **** *** ********** ***** ** *********. This individual should not be allowed to be a licensed dealership in the state of ** and buyers should be warned not to purchase a vehicle from him. If they do, they need to look carefully to assure that they have a clean title and go with him to the local tag office where he is required to pay the transfer tax.
