I hired him (***** ****/re-build chattanooga) to build a safety railing for steps on my front porch. He quoted me$400 plus for the job. He asked for 1/2 up front for materials. I gave him this. He came and did a partial job. Tried to get me to pay the rest saying he needed more nails! I told him I never pay in full before job is done but I gave him half of the remaining balance...a little over $100. He has never come back to finish. Over a month now. So I have an unfinished fence rail and never the stair railng at all which was what I actually wanted. My understanding is he repeats this with many people. I just want people to be warned and not hire him or give him money up front.

Contracted with this business to rebuild a rear deck for $1,500. Agreed on a 3 part payment schedule. Part 1: 1/3 payment on complete demo and cleanup. Only partial demo ( approx 25%) and no cleanup. I agreed to do the 1/3 payment ($500) in good faith and understood it was to facilitate purchasing materials, and they would return the next day to continued work. As of 03/14/2024 I have made several attempts to contact by both telephone and text. I have left several messages and have yet to receive any response. Very dissatisfied with customer service, professionalism, and lack of work ethic. I wish to honor the contract or receive a refund of payments.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
The assessment of demo work completed is incorrect.  I estimate less than half!  (See attached picture for verification!)
The payment was in good faith that Mr ***** would return to continue his job!
We are 2 weeks in and as yet only 2 1/2 hours work, a half busted up deck with a pile of scrap wood! (see attached picture!)
The only contact I have had from Him is tired, blisters on his feet on Friday the 8th, then a text from his wife on Monday 3/11 stating he had kidney stones, in the emergency room! “He will call them as soon as he could…”!   Nothing else!
Now, I understand life happens we can’t control everything.  Get hurt, sickness, stuff breaks., etc. That said…you’re a contractor…only as good as your reputation.
I would recommend a prompt response and continue work or a full refund of payment!  You should call or txt ************!
      Sincerely,
      ******* *****
