  On April __, I ordered carpet from Kauai Flooring and Interiors for my vacation rental property at *********************************************************, to be installed in May 2022 between 17 and 27. I paid $4,822.56 for the carpet and carpet pad, with an additional $2,419,08 to be paid for labor after installation. Unfortunately, Kauai Flooring did not have installers available on those dates, so we blocked off dates in June for the installation. We were assured by Kauai Flooring that we did not need to be present for the installation. We arrived at the property after the installation was complete, and at that time we learned that the carpet was not the color we had selected. Kauai Flooring's salesperson, *********************, came to the property and confirmed that the carpet sample that had been sent to us was mislabeled, which resulted in installation of the wrong carpet. He attributed the issue to the manufacturer, Mohawk. In addition, the installation was defective, with nails and lumps protruding from the carpet and corners remaining unfinished. The company offered to replace the carpet, but we are not happy with the initial installation and the interruption to our rental business would be costly. I demanded a refund. Kauai Flooring responded by referring us to the manufacturer with whom we have no relationship and who will not speak to us in any event, and threatening to file a notice of lien against our property if we do not pay the outstanding balance immediately, notwithstanding that the wrong carpet was installed. Kauai Flooring is attempting to profit from a mistake for which it (or its supplier) is responsible, while leaving its customer to bear the loss. We are entitled to a full refund less the cost of the carpet pad for this breach of contract, so that we can purchase a replacement carpet elsewhere.
