We hired ************************* of Done Right Construction on January 12, 2023. We paid $2,100 up front to start the job. We experienced a small garage fire and he was hired to seal our garage with insulation and drywall, as well as scrub down the entire garage. Once hired on, ****** would come each day for 1-2 hours to work. This turned into months of waiting for this small job to be completed. We would try to contact him frequently with it always being some sort of excuse on why the job hasn't been completed yet. Once spring came by we were finally to the point of him hanging the drywall, but he never came to finish mudding but only with final payment (*****) being made. We went through another two months of excuses before deciding to hire someone else. Once the new contractor came in it was noticed that the drywall that was hung was not even up to code leaving us with a job that wasn't covered by insurance. We also noticed that he only laid one piece of insulation and called it good. We have since been threatened with slander once we asked for our money back. We have yet to come to any sort of resolution and he refuses to refund the amount paid.Initial Complaint

Long story short, on May 30, 2023, I reached out to the business owner about replacing my deck. He came that night, we each signed a contract stating it was a 2 day ******** started demo May 31. He has received $3,300 from me. As of July 18, 2023 the deck is not completed & he hasn't responded to any of my texts the last 3 days. I either want my money back in order to hire someone else to finish the job or for him to complete the deck in a timely manner & fix the issues I've pointed out to him (which does not appear likely).Throughout the months of dealing with this job, it came to light via ********* that I am not the only person having issues with this business owner. Through messaging with another customer, ******* have come find that the business owner had overlapping commitments or untruths during this (our) ordeal. In my opinion, it appears the business owner can provide quality work...the main issue is coming to work or communicating with the customer (especially after he receives payments).
