      Behrends Lawn Care is my go to for many different services. Not only do they cover my snow removal but they also mow my lawn and have done landscaping(a retaining wall+flower bed) and I know they do tree removal as well and if I ever need that service I will be contacting them. Shawn is quick to answer any questions whether is be via text, phone call or email. Shawn is reliable and has reasonable pricing, especially compared to the competition. He gets the job done efficiently and is fair and ethical, he also has a clear written contract that I signed and received a copy of to keep on file so that we had no miscommunications. He has always completed the services in a timely manner and is honest about all services that will be performed, he is clear with his answers when I had questions and he always stuck to the contract. The work that is performed is always professionally done and the results are exactly what I was looking for. I am incredibly happy with Behrends Lawn Care and will be using them for all my lawn care needs!

      Really displeased with this company. I paid $500 for 10 "occurrences" of snow removal. However, and maybe this is my naiveté, it was not clear at all to me that salting counted as an occurrence. It was charged at the same rate as snow removal. I figured 10 would be plenty to get me through the winter, not understanding that each time it snowed it would count as 2, so after 5 snow events I was out. Shawn explained this all to me in a long text, about liability and cost of salt. Which I understand. I don't understand how salt costs the same as snow removal labor, equipment and gas, but again maybe that's just something I don't get about the business. I just wish this had been more clear from the beginning. Then, in his response to my review, he insulted me by suggesting I didn't read the contract. I did. I have also had several others look at the language which is misleading at best, nor is this "industry standard." As a single mom, I was taken advantage of. It's been suggested I turn this company in for fraud. I won't be doing that. I will be letting all of you know, however, that this is not a trustworthy person to employ. His other low reviews state similar complaints, and he has given similar admonitions to other clients who dare to publicly call out his shady tactics. I hope that he will see this and improve his contract wording so that there is zero confusion. I would think a reputable business person would want that, instead of insulting his client's intelligence.

      Below is the reply via Google reviews. As you can see this was handled professionally without any insults or criticism. (Like always). I wish I could say the same for her. Leaving me a negligent review on Google misguiding the general public, were I have 4.3/5 stars with 206 reviews. Which is essentially 30 one star reviews out of 206 which is around 15%. That’s extremely common if it wasn’t you wouldn’t have called me to condone business if the reviews were not good to begin with. Every business has a small percent of individuals that are just not able to be pleased and that’s life and that’s perfectly okay. And an A rating on the BBB. Seems as though we know we’re the criticism/unprofessional behaviors stemming from and it’s not my business. I highly recommend moving forward you read any contract you sign as we’re all adults here. There’s no reason to throw around hollow words/accusations due to you not understanding a contract or asking questions thereof without making this a personal matter of insult when it’s just business. (I’m sorry you are frustrated. You were aware of salting and the snow removal per the signed contract prior to condoning any business or exchange of money. I also mentioned it to you verbally prior to the signed contract. That is why we have signed contracts so there’s no guess work. Every winter is different in terms of accumulative amounts or the amount of ice/sleet we have. (Slip hazards). Salts always cost the same per occurrence as snow removal as it’s the industry standard. As you know this winters been more milder in terms of temps being higher so thawing and freezing has been significant. So it’s common to need additional salting to reduce slip hazards or liabilities. The contract was there for you to read prior to signing or payment from the beginning. If you don’t take the initiative to read contracts prior to signing then you’ll alway have a different expectation I’m sure. I’m sorry you didn’t read the contract you signed and are frustrated. Every winter’s different then then prior or next. I do hope you have a good day however.) ^^^^^^

      You have the same reply to every negative review. You blame the customer. It’s time to fix this consistent problem you have instead of continuing to avoid responsibility and insult others. Maybe spend less time replying to every review and instead spend some time clarifying your contract so this doesn’t keep happening to you.
