EXTREMELY IMPRESSED WITH THE PROFESSIONALISM OF COPE COLLISION. THEY'RE COMPETENT, KNOWLEGABLE, AND CERTIFIED WITH ****** WHICH IS AN ADDED BONUS FOR ME! THEY COMMUNICATED WITH ME, THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY, WHICH I REALLY APPRECIATE. THEY'RE AN HONEST, LOCAL BUSINESS AND THEY REALLY SEEM TO CARE ABOUT WHAT THEY DO. I WON'T BE TAKING MY VEHICLE ANYWHERE ELSE!

CUSTOMER BEWARE - COPE ********************** USES A BLANKET AUTHORIZATION FOR YOUR PRIVATE/PERSONAL INFORMATION: My truck was recently involved in an accident. I called USAA, my insurance, to get a list of approved shops to bring my vehicle into. Cope Collision was on the list, and I made arrangements to have the truck brought to them. They sent over a Docusign agreement that is "required" prior as an authorization before work can begin. The Docusign makes you sign each paragraph with an initial to indicate you agree/have read it. .In the document there is a clause that reads (this is word for word): "I agree to allow Cope Collision to use my information, photos, and accident details for, but not limited to education and training purposes, consumer education, internet and social media sites."I actually stopped and re-read it to make sure it literally just said, "my information" with no explanation of WHAT information they can use. This is a blanket statement that allows them to use whatever information they have anywhere on the internet or social media at anytime, now and in the future. This was a HUGE red flag for me. I called the company and got directed to a "*****" to whom I explained my concern. His response (also word for word). "This is our agreement. If you want your car to be fixed here you have to sign it. We're not changing it for one customer." A basic agreement is a clear indication of how much you can trust the company. I strongly recommend that you see this one star review and go elsewhere. A fixed vehicle isn't worth signing your personal data and information away. And if they REALLY aren't going to use it, why include the clause? In 2023, there is NO reason to ask for blanket authorization for use of your personal data on the internet. And when it's pointed out, instead of saying, "ooh, yeah, let's fix that," they doubled down and told me to sign or go elsewhere. Guess what? I went elsewhere.

We have reached out to you and are sorry you feel this way. You have not contacted me back and would rather go online and "bash" us rather than have a conversation about it. We do have 1 authorization form. It is the form for every repair we complete here at our shop. For you or any customer, if you are not comfortable signing a form you should not sign it. I don't go in and buy a car and ask or expect for them to redact certain areas of their standard contract. It is up to me to sign it or not, as is your right. I also don't go online because I didn't want to sign the contract and complain about it. I just simply don't sign it and move on with my life. I also am concerned with your recollection of events. The person you spoke to was not "*****" as we do not have a "*****" in our office, so your word for word response should take that into consideration. I hope you have a lovely day and selected a shop that meets your standards and is certified by the vehicle manufacturer as we are. I did notice on the estimate provided by the insurance most of the parts are used that they located, I know you are an engineer so I hope you do your own research and locate the *** position statements for parts and repairs. We wish nothing but the best of luck to you.
