Took my truck to resolve a fan clutch noise. They had the truck all day and told me the problem was the transmission needed to be replaced ($11,5000). They said the fault codes were SSPCAF and SSPCBF and lots of clutch material in the transmission that would resulting in damage to the transmission. I ran forscan app on my truck and it showed no fault codes for SSPCAF and SSFCBF. My diagnostic software also showed the fan clutch was stuck on and causing the noise. They lied about the fault codes. There were no warning lights which result from fault codes. I don’t believed they removed the transmission pan to see if there was material in it. They would have had to add transmission fluid if they did that and there were no charges for it. This borders on fraud and is unethical. I will be contacting the service manager and ford customer service. A business conducting this type fraud should not be in business.Business response

I have taken the truck to be repaired. As I had suggested the fix was to replace the fan clutch for $875 and replacing the transmission for $11500. Replacing the transmission would not have fixed the problem. I suspect they knew it wasn’t the transmission and were taking advantage of a senior citizen. They would have merely changed the fan clutch for under a $1000 and charged me $11,500 put the $170 diagnostic fee and made a nice profit.
I have not heard back from Champaign ford city.

On September 23, 2023, my wife and I bought a 2022 used Ford Bronco from Champaign Ford City. There is no front license plate holder, the auto start/stop does not work consistently, and the keyless entry pad needs to be reprogrammed. The dealership had to order a front license plate holder and was to contact me when it arrived to install it and take care of the other issues. After a few weeks, I called my sales rep and left a message asking him to contact me on when I should come in for the service. He did not call back. I called him again the next week with the same results. I finally called the service department on Tuesday, October 31 and explained my situation. I was told that someone would call me back to set up an appointment. I was never called back. I realize none of these issues are major, however, it is illegal to drive a car in Illinois without a front license plate. Every time I take the vehicle out I am subject to being pulled over by police.Business response

I am rejecting this response because:
As of today, the only resolution is the front license plate holder has been attached. The auto start/stop is still inconsistent and the keyless entry code on the driver side door is still unoperational. In addition, while going through this process of resolving these issues, it came to my attention that I was also missing the storage bags for the 4 doors and 2 roof panels. The vehicle I purchased is a 2022 Ford Bronco. The doors and roof panels are removable and have storage bags to keep them from being damaged or scratched when removed. I brought this to the attention of Sales Manager **** *******. He looked up the information of the vehicle to confirm this. He told me he would have the storage bags ordered and I would be notified when they arrived to the dealership. The bags arrived on Wednesday November 15. I picked them up from the dealership that day. When I got home I opened up the boxes and noticed there were only storage bags for the two front doors and one roof panel. I called Mr ******* the next day to tell him about the missing storage bags for the two rear doors and the other roof panel. I asked if there was a mistake with the order and he said "no" that is what he ordered. Mr ******* then explained he was not familiar with the Bronco accessories and he would look into the matter and confirm if more storage bags should be ordered. Mr ******* told me he would call me back, but as of today I have not heard from him.I am rejecting this response because as of today I do not have all of my resolutions that should have happened with the purchase of this vehicle. I was required to respond within 5 days of the notification from the BBB. I understand there is a recall on the 2022 Ford Bronco and the rest of the issues (auto start/stop and keyless entry) should be resolved when the part for the recall arrives. However, I have not been notified of that yet.
