Hello, I am a current resident of *****************, in Unit 409C. In our unit, my roommates and I currently have a microwave with a broken door. The microwave was manufactured in April 2007, and the life span of the microwave has expired. No damage or misuse occurred to the microwave that resulted in the damage. Plastic is only designed to last so long, and one day, while normally closing the microwave door, it broke. We reported this to management. They said this is not covered under normal wear and tear, and is in fact damages. They said they were going to charge us more than $370 to replace a simple broken microwave door. We have talked extensively with the ********************************* of *******, and they have reaffirmed that this is technically "wear and tear," and we are not financially responsible for the cost of replacing said microwave door.We are asking that management replace this microwave door at their cost, not ours.
