Ambrosia Homes built our home at *****************************************************, which we purchased in 2020. After we moved in, we observed that one of the concrete footers supporting the front porch was cracking apart and crumbling. The developer sent someone out to ostensibly repair the issue. It has recently become apparent that any work done was merely cosmetic. The porch is beginning to sink into that same footer, and to pull away from the house. Apparently there is an underlying structural issue that was not addressed. The principal of Ambrosia has refused to look at, much less actually address, this structural defect.Business response

Thank you for your email. The owner of the home previously contacted the seller of the home about this issue in the last 30 days. This home was sold to the owner in 2020. The home sale included a 1 year warranty. During the warranty period, the owner advised the seller about an issue with an exterior concrete pier that holds up a exterior deck landing. The item was repaired at that time. Two years later, which was two years after the warranty period had expired, the owner asked for another repair from the seller. This request is outside of the warranty period and will not be honored. Further, it is very common for exterior concrete flatwork like sidewalks and exterior concrete piers to break or shift in Chicagoland during the harsh ******* and *******, as the ground itself can expand, contract or otherwise move. Repairing these items is not difficult and is part of normal home owner maintenance. The seller never agreed to maintain this home indefinitely, the 1 year warranty was part of the purchase and sale agreement, the warranty period has been expired for at least two years, and the seller will not return to the house for this issue.
