On September 2022, EU Flooring contacted me via text to give offer an estimate for a refinish flooring job. EU Flooring stayed for about 15 minutes and gave me an estimate price for the job then proceeded to say there was a charge of $75 for the estimate. I explained that no one from the company told me there would be a cost and customers need to be told prior to scheduling appointments. I would not have scheduled an estimate if I were told upfront about the cost since I had three other flooring companies that were not charging for an estimate. EU Flooring stated that someone should have told me prior to scheduling. I showed him the text exchange and confirmed that there was no notification of a charge. I continued to argue that I will not pay since there was no notice, but he would not leave unless I did. Even more, he stated that an email detailing the proposal for the job would be emailed to me, which never came. It seems to me based on the prior complaint that EU Flooring continues its deceitful practice of charging for estimates even though customers have complained that they need to given proper notice since this is not the industry standard.Initial Complaint

I asked EU Flooring to give me an estimate to refinish my floors, one of five contractors. ******** came and inspected my floors and then charged me $75 for the estimate. I know this is not the industry standard, as none of the other contractors charged me anything, and ** did not advise of the charge until he was done with the estimate, which I think is a deceitful practice. You can either advise your customer that they are going to be charged, or you can add the travel charge to the estimate. The way you did it is wrong.I don't need you to look into the other proposals.
