I got fraudulent charges from your company. Either you are not securing your customers enough or letting people with the most basic information send money. There is clearly a lack in security.Initial Complaint

I was scammed over the phone by someone claiming to be ******** I had been having issues with my phone and had recently been in to ******** I physically went to back to the ******* store to check on the emails and the test messages I was receiving, and why I was charged the $941.07 and they even said they appeared to be from them. At the same time, I realized my bank account had been hacked, and the $941.07 had been charged. I immediately closed my accounts so no more ********************** could be charged. My bank is investigating the claim,, but as for now, I'm out the money which appears someone purchased a cell phone by getting into my ******* account.Initial Complaint

This company has my personal information that I did not willingly give to them for money transfers. I keep receiving emails saying money I did not transfer is being taken from my account. I called to try and resolve the issue only to have them try and ask for more personal information which I did not want to provide. The supervisor who identified himself only as ***** refused to give me his last name and he refused to terminate the account which I explained I did not set up. Pangea allowed someone to use my information to transfer money to someone else. Money was stolen from my account. Themselves, Sigue and *** financial allowed my money to be passed around. I have contacted my bank and they are canceling the charges. This is absurd that anyone can use anyone else information without verification. This service is awful. I want to know who the money was sent to and their location to turn in for a police report. You need better security. How does a company in 2022 allow a ***** to use someone else's information and bank card? There are plenty of options to prevent this. Ive never used your service nor will I ever. It's an absolute shame you all are allowed to continue your business with so many being effected.Business response

To whom it may concern:
We are very sorry to hear that Mr. ********* personal and banking information was compromised, we at Pangea have a strict security protocols and take these matters very seriously.
We called ******************** yesterday to ask for information so that we could locate any account created with his personal and banking information. We are pleased to inform that we have successfully located the account and have blocked it. Mr. ********* information will no longer be compromised on our end.
After further review, we were able to identify that the transfer created did not pass our security filters, which means that there was just an Authorization Hold on his card, and we can now confirm this has been reversed. The issuer bank will be able to provide ******************** with more information on this matter. Authorization Holds are often released by the issuer bank.

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I would like to see that they beef up their security in the future to prevent this from happening. It's hard to have your card canceled and be without access to your funds for days. It's not pangea who stole my card info. It was someone at sandals. An employee. It was pangea that allowed them to be used. Thank you pangea for reaching out to help with this.

On May 1, 2022. I sent money through Pangea to someone in ******. On May 3, 2022, I received a notification that the person had received the money. On May 8, 2022, I received a message from the receipient in ****** telling me Chedrahui told the the confirmation number Pangea sent me was incorrect. On May 8, 2022, I contacted Pangea and was advised that the money was marked as already recieved and that they would request the appropriate documentation from Chedrahui to prove my recipient, had indeed received the money I sent. On May 15, 2022, I contacted Pangea and was advised that the issue had been solved. According to Pangea Chedrahui had deposited the money into an account and was trying to contact the receipient to give them instructions on how to access that money. I asked them how come the money had been marked as received and when my receipient had not received and was told that was normal as Chedrahui had already recieved the Money. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that someone would call me. **** called me, he said that Pangea had nothing to do with the issue at this point, that Chedrahui had the money and they would only release it to the receipient but not in cash as I had requested, but in a card and they needed to contact the receipient. My answer to Pangea was that since the Chedrahui has my money, pangea lied to me by telling me the money had been picked up, I wanted my money returned immediately. I was told that wasn't possible. So I them fine as this is a small amount I can afford to lose it. However, my trust in Pangea is broken, as they lied to me and I will be presenting a complaint to the BBB and taking my business elsewhere.Business response

To Whom It May ********************* at Pangea Money Transfer are very sorry to hear that ******************** had a negative experience while using Pangea Money Transfer. We work very hard to make money-sending experiences as enjoyable and speedy as possible, and regret that she not only had a negative experience, but then her issue wasnt resolved to her satisfaction.
We have been having difficulties with the payout location that ******************* chose and have since removed them from our platform due to poor customer experiences that have resulted from these issues. Given the challenges we have had resolving Ms. ********* problem through normal channels, Ive personally issued a refund back to her payment method for the full transfer and fees on May 24th,2022. We have attempted to contact her to discuss the issue but have not yet been successful.
We deeply regret any inconvenience that **************** has experienced and have added a free transfer to her account as a small token of our appreciation for her continued trust in us. I was sending money to my daughter in law she gave me wrong bank information twice I cancelled both transactions and. I received notice that I would not be charged. I was charged for both they refunded one of the transactions I have been waiting since December for the second all I receive is the run aroundBusiness response

Someone was able to hack into my debit card and used Pangea Money Transfer to steal over $600 from me! How is it that these thieves can use Pangeas platform so easily? Why does Pangea allow such transfers to happen without doing more to identify and verify their users and source of funds!?Business response

To Whom It May ************************** you for sharing the feedback from ****************. At Pangea Money Transfer we take customer satisfaction very seriously and are disappointed to hear of the troubles she has experienced.
After receiving the customer concern from the ********************, we attempted to contact **************** multiple times to discuss her issue. Unfortunately, we were unable to reach her. We don't have a customer record on file for her, so it appears that her card information has been compromised and used by someone else.In situations where there are unauthorized charges to Pangea on a card we encourage the card holder to contact their financial institution and dispute the charge. Their financial institution will work with us and we will cooperate fully with their investigation.

There was a transaction that I made 2/18/2022, I have called many times to get a transaction history and copies of the last transaction. They claimed my account was fraud so I sent over the documents with my information to prove my account was not fraud. I have called many times, to get a copy all they tell me that there processing the request and I should recieve it soon and of as now I have recieved nothing. They have blocked my account so I can not go on there to get a copy. All I am asking for is a copy of a transaction and there refusing to provide since its my money that was sent and there acting like if its there's.Business response

This was done both for hers and Pangea's protection. We have since unblocked the account, and ********************** may access her account to obtain information about her transactions at this time.
