I signed an agreement to repair my house roof with Covered Public Adjuster LLC (** FIRM LIC#:30001665175) on 10/19/2022. The owner of the above company is a Licensed Public Adjuster NIC#******** (***************************) filed a claim in October 2022 with my home ***************** ******************* since there was wind and hail damage on the roof and received a check for $12,972 on December 21, 2022. After receiving the above check, he verbally commited to repair my roof in April 2023. Unfortunately the repair never occurred and I am not able to get a hold of the above adjuster even after multiple phone calls and emails. I checked with ***************** on July 24, 2023 and they confirmed that they issued the check to the public adjuster and also confirmed that the check has NOT yet been cashed. The insurance company will not release the check in my name since the law requires the public adjuster to release me from the contract. My roof is now leaking water after every rain storm and has damaged my furniture and wall. Can you please help me get a response from this public adjuster to either have them finish the job or release me from the contract which does not have any rescind clause after the required state review period of 5 days. I have attached the contract for your review.

I am rejecting this response because:
I reject the business response as nothing on it indicates how they will resolve my issue and they are still unresponsive to my emails or phone calls not just with me but also to my insurance carrier who tried to reach out to them on my behalf recently. Unfortunately I am traveling for work and do not have my personal laptop with me that has the evidence that support my position. If you give me until Friday (which is when I return back) I can provide you with the evidence.

The only way I will be satisfied is if the business releases me from the original PA contract which clearly indicated that if I get the roof work done with them, they would not charge me any fees. I gave them ample opportunity (over 1 year) to do the roof work but he either doesn't respond or the very few times he did, he made one excuse after another. He sent 4 contractors over but those were sent so he can compare their quotes against his own roofing company where he wants to charge $34k. The insurance company informed me that they would not pay the amount he is requesting since their industry estimate it should cost around $22k. They are investigating if whether he is commiting fraud. He tried to get me to sign the $34k contract (that he attached) but I refused to sign that since he wants me to pay the difference between what the insurance will pay him and what he wants to charge them $34k and if the insurance doesn't pay, I am stuck with the charges. It should be noted that the outside contractors that he referenced in his evidence are also charging between $12k - $22k so no one including the insurance understands why he wants to charge so much.

Because of this I am stuck in between his personal battle between the insurance company and him due to his desire to charge more and my roof work isn't getting done.  I can no longer trust him and would like to be released from the PA contract so I can work with the insurance carrier directly. I need to get the roof done ASAP since it has been actively leaking since earlier this year and has caused health safety concerns for my children.

      Sincerely,
