Around March 2024, I took my vehicle into R&N for problems with my car. The vehicle was stuck in low power mode, and would not accelerate past 25mph. I took it here because I live in the town and thought a small town mechanic would be great. R&N had my car for a full month, with no progress. I contacted them because I needed a vehicle due to the fact that I have 3 small children and need to get to work. They offered me a loaner car free of charge. That car did not have a valid license plate, it did not have tags, and they let me drive it around for 3 weeks before finally legalizing it because I put my foot down. From the moment they started on my car until towards the end of July I had to bring my vehicle back to them over 5 times due to the SAME problem. They have racked up my bill to over 7 grand and openly admitted that they had no idea what the problem was even though I asked numerous times if they knew what they were doing so I could take it to someone who did. They admitted they were just replacing and trying different things, and charged me for ALL of it. After over 5 months of back and forth, they replaced the gas pedal and it worked for barely 3 weeks until my vehicle broke down 131 miles from home. I was stuck on the interstate for 2 hours with 3 kids. I got it towed back for them to say the engine THEY put in was messed up and that it was flooded with a bunch of metals. They said they have to put in a completely new engine once again. I feel as though I’ve been taken advantage of, and 75% of the things they “ fixed” did not fix it being as though it was returned after so called “ fixing” for the same exact problem as it started with. I was charged for all of it. I remained patient with them, I was nothing but kind and considerate. I have a handful of people in my town that have had experiences very similar to mine. Where they were charged for things that did not have anything to do with the problem. My car is now having to be junked due to it all.
