********************* (the owner of the business) came to my home to fix my ****** ****** grandfather clock on 8/4/2020. The issue was involved enough that he need to take the whole clock mechanism including the dial into his shop. When we finally connected (Due to blocking his number accidentally) about returning and installing the mechanisim, he came to my house 3/2020 and he then realized that he didn't have the dial (clock face). He left most of the pieces with me and instructed me he would return to the shop, get it, and reschedule the installation. I never heard back from him until I initiated contact. I gave him the information regarding the model # and measurements he asked for in May 2021. I have continued to text and call regarding the dial and there has not been any resolution to this problem. Because he ghosted me for so long I had to find someone else to fix the clock.Turns out this dial belongs to a limited edition ****** ****** I had to purchase a whole new mechanism for a cost of $2495.00.I sent a certified letter In July 2022 to the business asking for reimbursement for $2000.00 for the new mechanism minus what I would have paid for his work. I would not have to purchase a whole new replacement due to his negligence. Again there has been no responsibility for replacing the dial face HE lost. Complete silence on his part. I will never use this business again!Initial Complaint

On September 23, 2021 I had them do maintenance on my grandfather clock, move it and order me a custom cut mirror for the bottom. I was charged $350 for 3 men, but the elderly man did nothing, but sit on my couch, $85 service call and $60 for the mirror. More than I was quoted, but happy the clock was running. I was told it may take a couple of weeks at the most and they would bring it when it was ready. After 2 weeks my clock wasnt working and couldnt reach them. By mid October I heard nothing, called several times and finally told it hadnt come in and they would look at the clock again when the mirror came in. Called 3 more times and no answer, stopped in just to be told still no mirror. This continued until the end of December when we stopped at the shop for the 4th time and told them we wanted our money back for the mirror, but was told they have no cash and would get the mirror immediately. Two days later on our porch in 30 degree weather we find a mirror wrapped in a piece of newspaper and a small grocery bag. As ridiculous and unprofessional as it seemed I was thrilled to finally have it. No surprise when I opened it and not only did it not fit even though they measured for a custom order piece, but obviously it was an old used mirror with scratches! I was livid and when someone finally answered when I called I was basically told oh well! I called and left several messages and have heard nothing! My clock was left to me by my mother when she passes away, so very valuable to me and I am very disappointed and I dont want McHenry clock to take advantage of any one else!!!! They are unethical, unprofessional and should not have a business license.
