On May 12, 2022 I contacted jdLarson, owner of dynasty automotive, to give me an estimate on fixing the ac in my 2012 ******* accent. On May 16th, 2022 I received a quote of $594. On June 20th, 2022 ********************* informed me that the ac was fixed in my 2012 ******* accent, he gave me a **** of $605, which I promptly paid in full. On June 21, 2022 the ac was no longer working. I took my vehicle back to dynasty automotive and they informed me that it would be another $405 to fix it. I was confused as I was told it was fixed already. I have spoken to ******************** about this issue at great length and I believe that I should not have to pay any more money to have my ac fixed when it should've been *********** the first time. I would like either my $605 back or the issue completely fixed for free.

Hello to whom it may concern,

We received a letter in the mail in regards to a client that has received work through us for her vehicle.

To start off Dynasty Transport is not Dynasty automotive which this is listed under.  My husband ***************** does in fact own both but they are two different companies which do not involve each other in business matters.

As far as this customer I have listed below the Statement from ***************** the owner and  Service writer that dealt with *************** directly. You will also find screenshots of the conversation in which he diligently explained over and over again how this process works as far as an ** unit in a vehicle. When she came in the vehicle had been involved in some sort of collision with an animal, this caused damage to the condenser as shown in the pictures. The answer to her question in the screenshot youre telling me you could not have tested the compressor? That is a no we couldnt, not when you have leaking lines and a condenser that is also leaking due to it being involved in some type of accident which resulted in damage to the condenser in which needed to be replaced. At the time of it leaving our facility I have two people that stated that at that time everything was functioning as it should. As the customer clearly states as well when she left it was functioning as it should. There are many reasons why a compressor could have gone out one being that she had ran her air conditioner with leaking Freon after the damage had occurred until finally the ** stopped working due to the Freon leaking completely out and it running dry.

      ******************* Statement-

No way for system to hold Freon without condenser and ac lines being replaced after service was performed condenser was functioning properly/kicking on as should and ** was cold. Customer states after vehicle was picked up ** started getting warm and vehicle felt like it was hiccuping. We had customer bring vehicle back in to do a re check on ** and noticed ** compressor was locking up causing ** to not function properly which is a part that was not needed at time of service but was then needed shortly after customer picked up vehicle. We then quoted customer for parts and labor on replacing ac compressor and stated we would save customer money by not charging customer labor to recharge system or charge for Freon to recharge as courtesy.

Please see supporting documentation that this was thoroughly explained to the customer.

Unfortunately,  we, as well as every other business in the world cannot work for free and cannot predict the future. This customer had made us aware before we had even done work financially it was a burden, so we gave her a quote for what we believed would fix it and at the time did as it left our shop working, in which she agreed to the estimate and had the work performed. So as you can see as well attached is the invoice the part that is needed was never charged to the customer because that work was never done, it was only after the initial work was done that The compressor had gone out after leaving our facility.

Thank you for you time. Please reach out with any further questions.

      Kind regards,

I am rejecting this response because:
I did not do the animal damage to my vehicle. That was done by a previous owner. I am still not satisfied with their response. I was told they would fix my ac and less than 24 hours later it stopped working
      Sincerely,

      Business response

      07/15/2022

      In response to customers rejection:

Although we have completely stated that we absolutely understand the damage  was not done by the customer but by somebody prior to coming in to us with a visual inspection that there in fact was leaking Freon lines going into the condenser. We started off with what we could visually see to be the cause of the issue for the air conditioning unit in her vehicle. As The customer also stated, when it left our shop the air conditioning was working. Again the compressor is completely different than the condensing unit, in which the condensing unit was in fact replaced not the compressor. The only way to tell if there is an issue with the condensing unit now is to have The compressor replaced. Customer has stated that she was not financially able to do this and asked us to come up with a payment plan, when a payment plan could not be established by my company she then got mad and thats when she turned in this complaint. So as stated, as it stands in the mechanical world at all the next step has to be done, but the work provided is under warranty, unfortunately until we have the compressor unit replaced we cannot verify that there is any further issue with the work that we have done. This has been stated to this customer over and over and over again to no avail of the customer understanding how this works. When fixing an air conditioning unit there are many different parts,  what we fixed was the visual aspect of it what we could see was an issue at the time we then quoted her and did the work upon her approval, so the work provided was in fact done correctly, and had it not been done correctly then we would warranty this but we can visually now see that the compressor has since locked up, and for many different reasons this could happen but one of the reasons could be running the air conditioner with no Freon or very little Freon prior to us working on the vehicle, The other thing is with air conditioning units sometimes it really is just a coincidence that stuff like this happens but yet still has nothing to do with the work we have provided. My apologies that she purchased a vehicle from someone that had obvious vehicle damage prior to her purchasing it for $1000 or less from what the customer stated, but how as a company are we supposed to just give out a free expensive service for something we did not cause nor is it an issue with the service that we have provided? We recommend this customer to speak to any other mechanics in the area as we have. We also provided a small token of resolution on our end as far as giving her free freon once the customer decides to replace the compressor. So as far as I am concerned and as far as Dynasty automotive we have done all we can for this customer, and until she approves of an air conditioning compressor unit to be replaced on her vehicle theres nothing further that we can do regardless of her rejection of responses. As she has already made it very clear that she will take her business elsewhere even after we had been more then accommodating to her. We surely hope that someday she will understand the mechanics side of this, she cannot be expected to go to work and not be paid for the work that she is performing, neither will my technician or company.

      Complaint: 17487855

I am rejecting this response because: Despite what ***************** is saying, I do understand that my vehicle needed the parts repaired that his mechanic repaired. That has never been my issue. My issue is that I asked him how much would it cost to repair my vehicles ** and he said $600. So my issue is that I paid that $600 in full and just a few hours later had to bring my vehicle back because the ** was no longer working.  Prior to having Dynasty Automotive work on my ** I had never ran it because I knew when I purchased the vehicle that it did not work.  Regardless of what is now wrong with the ** I already paid in full to have it repaired. It should be working at this point, yet it is not.  I honestly do not understand the point of this back and forth arguing about this issue. I simply believe that I was wronged by this business and was hoping that they would be willing to make it right.

      Sincerely,
