The concession operator ***** at the Peoria Civic Center is charging 20% state of Illinois tax. The receipt is labeled 10% but the dollar amount is 20%. I bought a $5.00 soda and the '10%' tax was $1.00 which is 20%. I had others check their receipts and they had the same issue. I'm sure they are reporting 10% to the state and pocketing the extra 10%. I responded via the receipt survey. I also alerted the Peoria Civic Center by email tonight. I buy concessions each time I'm here. I wonder how much I and others have overpaid?

12/16/22 ******** game. The ******** Kids Game on 12/15/22 was a Cash event so tax was turned off on three locations. When the Tax Schedules were updated for the 12/16/22 ******** game the POS system did not update the terminals. Because of this taxes were set up in the stands during the event which created duplicated tax schedules on the terminals that did receive the update which caused duplicate taxes. All parties were refunded for any tax differences by 12/19/22. Terminals were updated at the same time and all duplicate Tax Schedules were deleted.Customer response
