May 2023 My wife and I purchase a brand new 2023 Honda Accord. The sales person asked us at least 3 times if we wanted to purchase the 100,000 mile extended warranty. We declined. In the Finance Office we were asked several more time by *** ****** about the 100,000 mile extended warrant and he recommended it. The car came with a 3 year/ 36, month warranty and a 6 year/ 60,000 mile warrant. My wife and I are in our late 60's and I began thinking about this 100,000 extended warranty, and that it could last maybe 8 or 9 years, possibly 10, and may out last me. This more than likely be our last new car, So after looking at all the finance numbers, we did get a trade in of $6981.46. a healthy down payment and we both have very good credit scores. We are payment buyers and the payments were a little more than we wanted, so we went with the 72 month plan, ( 6 years ) and so I decided to add the 100,000 mile EXTENDED warranty and on the receipt it clearly shows I paid an additional $2,000 to pay for the $1,922 cost of the extended warrant. At this time we have still not received the Extended warrant contract, and in fine print I learned the Extended Warranty had an expiration date of May 25 2028. At no time was I ever told the Extended warranty would expire in just 5 years. I contacted the dealership and spoke with several people there including the Finance Manager who told me that he remembered telling me back in May of last year that the 100,000 mile extended warranty had a expiration date and of only 5 years. So basically I am paying for the 3 year 36 month warranty as well as the 5 year 60,000 mile warranty as that 5 year 60,000 mile warranty expires the same date as my 100,000 Extended Warranty. I was offered the $1,922 back, and I asked about the finance charge that I have paid on that amount ** ****** stated that that request was REDICULOUS . Complaint: ********
I am wanting a Full rfund for my extended warranty, The Dealership never offered to pay me a refund as claimedIt was only after we made a deal and found out the monthly payments were within our budget, and then I began thinking about that warranty as I was 68 years old at that time, my wife 67, and the terms of the loan was 72 months, 6 years, so I decided to accept it as I was under the impression the warranty was based on 12,000 a year. The 36 month 36,000 mile warranty and the 60 moths 60,000 mile warranty that is on the car all are at 12,000 mile intervals, and no one every told be that the EXTENDED WARRANTY EXPIRED in 5 years. I only found that info in very tiny print in two places, my wife and I both wear glasses, and there were so many documents to sign and we were getting tired and worn out, AT NO TIME WAS IT MENTIONED at any time of the advertisement of the 100,000 mile EXTENDED WARRANTY. After I decided to accept the EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR 100,000 miles I paid extra on the final contract as noted on the receipt. By paying separately for it, the payment amount would not go up, and if I should pass before the car was paid off I knew that the Extended Warranty would last until the car was paid off. I had the peace of mind that I was told I would have by purchasing it. ( WRONG ) The Extended warranty ends in 5 years, my car payments lasts 6.
I want a full refund for the Extended warranty paid to me
Sincerely,

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because: I received a response from Neil Huffman Honda, Clarksville Ind and it was not acceptable as in my view it did not accurately list what they offered me when I spoke to them.
I have since talked to the: ****** ****** ******** ****. ( which I would like investigated as the phone number they gave out is nothing but a phone number offering the caller items to purchase that has nothing to do with this car, my warranty, nor Neil Huffman , that bogus number is 1-800-950-6060 . This number is given as the contact number for getting covered repairs paid for, and to call if covered repairs are not paid within 60 days, or if you cancel this contract and did not get a refund. But this phone number is just a loop offering items to purchase. I called it 3 times and even mentioned this problem when I called a different number listed on the Contract. AGAIN, that number is listed on the Contract itself. ( the ****** ******** *******
I then called * ************ *** * ***************
After routing and waiting I got a hold of someone that told me that my problem is between me and the dealership.
# 1) there is no deductible against this company as it is still under the Honda 3 year 36,000 mile warranty,.
#2) The Dealership stated this was an extended warranty, but this company states it is not that, it is a vehicle Serv Contract. which is not the same.
#3) I was suppose to have received all 6 pages of the document and I have repeatedly told Neil Huffman as late as end of last week, I still have not received all 6 pages of that document. The page 1 of 6 dated 5-25-2023 requested a signature which My wife was told to sign, I did not sign it.
( Why did I not receive all 6 pages and why did the document not request a signature on the last page. )
* My understanding of the law is that I was denied the right to withdraw from this agreement within 3 working days as I was never given the entire document !
* ****** ****** ******** **** stated that Yes Neil Huffman Honda should of given me all 6 pages of that document.
* the only notification that there was an expiration date is only found in two places, both fine print of I measured to be 1/16th of an inch tall.
* Note I never received all the documents of my finance paper, I only received page2 of 5, which appears to include the entire terms of the contract, but does not state any expiration date for the Extended Warranty as the kept telling us instead of saying it was actually Vehicle service contract from a 3rd Party.
By not providing me with all the documentation I was unable to fully understand this contract ( documents missing )
Again why am I signing page 2 of a 5 page document without presenting me with pages 1, 3, 4, and 5.
I was 67 years old at the time I signed this contract, my wife was 66, we both wear glasses. It is my opinion that we were taken advantage of as the Service contract by a 3rd party was being represented as a Honda Extended warranty that would cover all but normal wear and tear for up to 100,000 miles.
When asked, I was told, yes , any of the repairs could be done here at Neil Huffman, but rest assured other mechanical shops of your choice could do the work.
Three to five times the saleman kept asking us and selling us the concept of an extended warranty. Since he works for Neil Huffman and ****** ****** ******* **** told me just Monday, they do not pay anyone to sell their contract, then the Salesman Must have been working as a representative of Neil Huffman Honda, and thus also by Honda. I said no each time)
In finance Dept the finance man continues to sell the wonders and peace of mind that a 100,000 mile Honda Extended Warranty would bring. Problem : Honda does not offer a 100,000 mile warranty.
Honda provides a 3 year 36,000 mile ( 12k per year ) and a 5 year / 60,000 mile warranty ( 12 k per year) and thats it. Yet I was sold a Honda Extended warranty for 100,000 miles.
Another Problem Neil Honda proudly states they were doing me a solid my not pro rating the Extended warranty, yet that company states there is no pro-rating while car is still under its 3 year 36,000mile warrant which our car falls under.
I am offered a refund from Neil Huffman Honda for the extend warranty contract, $1922 but it doesn't go to me. I was told it does not lessen the monthly payment amount, nor does it shorten the length of the 72 month contract, So I asked, well where does the money go, and their answer is it goes to the lien holder ( Honda ) I said that's just giving it to them for nothing, No answer. not a legitimate one, just nonsense.
I then asked if I decide to cancel the contract what about the 72 months of interest on that $1922.
***** from Honda Cars did not have any explanation for that question.
This was the same question I had Asked their Finance Mgr ****** about when he stated I was being ridiculous, which I took as being very offensive as the Cambridge Dictionary definition states : ******* ******** ****** ****** **** * ********* ** ** ******* ***
Neil Huffmans representative decided to make fun of me for asking a reasonable question, as other Neil Huffman Employees stated that it was a reasonable question.
****** prides himself on being a Marine, someone who deserves respect, but I served in the military as well, and used some language he certainly heard often during his years of service.
Its pretty common language in the military, has no real meaning, not like calling someone Stupid, Dumb, and Crazy. Besides I was not representing anyone by myself and merely defending this attack against my character.
I keep getting asked what I want, I keep telling them I want what they sold me a 100,000 Honda Extended Warranty without the same expiration date as their 60 month 60k mile warranty.
They based their warranties at 12,000 mile per year, so I am thinking it will at least extend well past the payoff date ( 72) months ( 8 years at 12k =96,000) so I am guessing at least 8 years, but I would now once I got the papers ( which I never have ).
I wanted to protect my wife and protect Honda as I said I was 68 at the time we bought the car.
I was wanting to do right by both, and laid that money ( $2,000 down on top of the trade in which I did not have to do ) Its all there for all to see.
Only 2 areas about 1/16th inch tall hidden inside all those documents and getting more tired, hot, hungry and more uncomfortable every minute . If ****** did not keep bring up the Honda Extended Warranty over and over again and again, we would of been out of his office much quicker.
My wife and I are both ********* and often need a boost to keep from being hospitalized. There was no real reason to make us wait in that office all that time. He just kept wearing us down and telling us how much more peace of mind we would have if we only would go ahead and buy the Honda Backed Extended Warranty that would last 100,000 miles.
I still have gotten all my paperwork and believe my rights have been violated. I believe my wife and I were victims to a bait and switch. I know were we mislead, and I do believe were victim to elder abuse. Note, He spent some time bragging about his time in the service and I had mentioned I had been in the military and That I got out because of a severe back injury that I still have today. So sitting in a chair, or standing up now and then may take some of the pain away some of the time, but I needed to get home, take some meds and lay on the couch. but no, I have to sit and listen about his life's story and her more and more about how much my wife and I would be fully protected if we only purchased that Honda Extended warranty. There is no such thing as a Honda Extended Warranty.
Fraud. on top of all these other unprofessional, possibly illegal business practices. Slander ?
* How much is $1922 in interest at the rate of my loan for 72 months? Neil Huffman's personnel will not answer that question, and simply ignore it. Will not even talk about it. Or why I am asking that question, I think it's an obvious question and that it deserves to be answered when it comes down to what I want if they will not honor their expressed warranty.

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because:
It is my understanding that should I decide to cancel the 3rd party warranty that I paid $1,922 for would be credited to my lien holder which is I believe is Honda Cars USA.
I question would be how that would affect my account, which I was never given a satisfactory answer from Jeff Huffman Honda.
I was told it would not affect the amount of my monthly payments, nor would it shorten the term of the contract which was made on May 25, 2023 for 6 years, 72 month.
Now I am informed it goes towards my balance but does not state at what date that amount is deducted. I was told as soon as all the paperwork was done, which is not a set time nor date.
Nor does it state how the $1,922 effects the terms of my contract.
My payments stay the same, the length of the contract does not change.
It is totally unreasonable to expect me to sign off on as It appears that the $1,922 is just absorbed
SO UNTIL I GET SPECIFIC ANSERs to that and my question about the interest amount on that loan for $1922.00 (Too many unknowns )
So if I cancel this service from a 3rd party ( which I was made to believe by the dealership the warranty was from Honda, a 100,000 mile Honda Extended warranty which it is not, and violated the contract, see item (4i ) in which it states seller must who is paid and describes the service. The entry listed names "Protective" yet there no documents identifying who or what that is. I did receive a document from the ****** ****** ******** ****. Is this a bait and switch tactic ?
2) I was a victim of fraud as ****** ****** ******** **** should of been listed in the Contract in Ite4-i. I never heard that companies name until months later.
3) Improper documentation, I am listed as the Buyer yet my wife was asked to sign a document by ****** ****** ******** **** and should of required my signature. It is a worthless contract as my wife who was 67 years old at the time and we both wear glasses, was asked to sign page 1 of 6, She nor I received the other 5 pages until months later after I kept asking about the documents for my extended Honda Warranty. I believe by law, a person must sign the last page, page 6 of 6 in this instance, or have signed each page. I suppose had I been asked to sign that document I would of became suspicious as that company's name was ever brought up.
4) Deception. I was constantly told, I guess a dozen times that I should purchase the Honda 100,000 mile extended warranty. It is my understanding Honda does not offer such an option, and if it had, then it should of been listed in Item 4-i. by the seller.
Just using the word Protection would make a reasonable person to believe that the word PROTECTION would fall in line with the Honda 100,000 mile Extended Warranty. Had ****** ****** ******** **** had been properly listed I am sure that that would raise a RED FLAG.
5) Dealing in Bad Faith : Pressuring older people that have disabilities. This goes past misrepresenting the truth. My wife and I rejected the option of the Honda 100,000 extended warranty, but it was offered again, and again and again, I would think that we told both the Salesman and Finance Officer at least a dozen times that we were not interested.
Then The Finance Officer looked directly at my 67 year old with, I was 68 at the time and have health issues, and told her again about how much peace of mind she would have with this additional PROTECTION, which the word protection being entered into item 4 item "I". My wife then turned to me as I felt her eyes asking, *****, if this protects me shouldn't we get it.
This is when I broke down, the payment amounts and length of contract seemed to be within our budget, so to pay for the additional $1,922, I paid an additional $2,000 to pay for what I was told was a Honda 100,000 mile .extended warranty.
When problems started arising after the truth started coming out Neil Huffman Honda asked me, point blank, what was it that I wanted, I stated I wanted what I was told was a Honda 100,000 mile extended warranty ( also based upon the 12,000 mile per year expiration dates.) The 1st was the 3 year 36,000 mile warranty, then the 5 year 60,000 mile warranty. Both based upon 12,000 miles a year which I believe is considered the national average. So why would I think the HONDA 100,000 mile Extended Warranty would not extend past the 60,000 mile warranty expiration date. I only found reference to the HONDA 100,000 mile extended warranty listed in 2 places, I measured both and each appeared to be 1/16th of an inch tall.
What I believe needs to be done is to create a new contract using the $1922 to be immediately applied to the terms of the contract and I should be eligible for the currently advertised 0.9 % interest from Honda.
Honda believes that this is a very reasonable request, I hit the bottom restart. Also I may be interested in adding more cash down as a show of good faith on my part.
Any Questions or comments, please contact me. Sincerely ***** *******

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because:
To *** **** ******** * Sir, I have not received any e-mails from you recently.
I did inform you That I spoke with Honda Finance several times and they agreed a new contract should be written seeing that the original is flawed.
May 15th was my 5th and 6th contact with them and they has issued an investigation of their own # ********* , I believe that was on May 10th.
Yes I made contact twice with Honda Finance, the 2nd call was to a Supervisor at Honda Finance.
What I am told is that Honda Finance has nothing to do with the contracts and simply are just a bank. That doesn't make any sense that a bank would not have anything to do with the contract.
I am told that Honda Finance does not have any influence over the dealership to amend an originally flawed contract.
Neither do Neil Huffman, nor Honda Finance can give me a rational and satisfactory answer on how by canceling the fraudulent 3rd party extended warrant contract and receiving a $1,922 refund, of why it goes to the principle and not to me as it is identified as a separate payment on the contract 4.i. and was paid for in cash .
( wasn't sure if tax or other fees may apply so I rounded the cash payment to an even $2,000 as per listed in contact along with the near $7,000 trade in. ( $6,981.46 to be exact ). Note, The contract was agreed to prior to the last moment decision to purchase the Honda 100,000 mile extended warrant (That does not exist )
THEFT BY DECEPTION . The contract states the seller, "Huffman Honda" must identify who the $1,922.00 payment goes to and for what purpose. They listed the name of the company as "Protective" and the reason, Service Contract.
I have not then nor up to this point been made aware of who Protective is, where they are located, nor phone or e-mail or any form of contact. I have not received any documents from that company.
My wife and I, 67 and 68 years old at the time, both of us ********** and wear glasses, were constantly being offered ( to the point of harassment ) the Honda 100,000 mile extended offer and we kept telling the salesman and the Finance Officer we were not interested.
Only after we had agreed to the terms of the contract which was a 6 year / 72 month deal and the finance Officer talking directly to my wife about the peace of mind that the Honda Extended 100,000 mile would give her. and her looking up to me that I decided to get the extended warranty that would outlast the length of contract in case I am not around.
Later I would learn there is no such then as a " Honda Extended 100,000 mile warranty. "
Honda Finance doesn't seem to be upset with that dealership and claim the refund goes to them, Why I ask, as it was specifically paid by cash to a different company . States so in the Contract item 4 i
Neither the dealership nor Honda Finance will explain how the terms of my contract will be effected as both state my payments stay the same and the duration of the loan stays the same. Honda Finance stated that amount is equal to 5 monthly payments.
They will not accept them as monthly payments, so I can not skip payments even though I have credit for 5 monthly credits.
They say it applies to the principle, so shouldn't that lower the principle as it lessened the amount borrowed .
I get no reply other than the Finance Officer at Neil Huffman stating that I was being RIDICULOUS. Cambridge Dictionary defines the meaning as follows, STUPID, FOOLISH, SILLY, CRAZY, DUMB, UNREASONABLE, deserving to be laughed at.
Honda Finance stated that my question was reasonable.
I maintain that by intentionally violating the rules of the contract and wrongfully identifying the name of the service contract provider was by design as that would of sent up a RED FLAG announcing this Honda 100,000 mile extended warranty which is what was repeatedly, over a dozen times, would not be the provider.
As a Result, I would not of accepted that contract.
A new Contract must be written to replace this flawed contract which I believe is now void as it was written in bad faith.
Note I have contacted the next step, I tried dealing with the dealership, I went to the BBB, I went to Honda Finance and the next step is the Police. I have contacted them and recommended that I meet with them and bring in all the documents that I have. Theft of $1,922 in cash by deception is being heard.
Why is this being so difficult ?
My wife and I love the car and asked what we wanted, we answered, we want the Honda 100,000 mile Extended warranty that last at least until the car is paid of, and should last about 8 years going by the 12,000/mile normal usage

Do NOT be persuaded to buy Gap insurance from Neil Huffman Honda in Clarksville when making a purchase. We were told if we cancelled our gap insurance before 2 years, we would get a prorated refund of our gap premium. We made the purchase of a new ***** ********* in Jan 2022 and paid over $700 additional for gap insurance. We called both the gap insurance company and Neil Huffman on Nov 8, 2023 ( well before the 2 year deadline) and cancelled coverage. We were advised our refund would be over $500. 4 months later we have not received the refund despite bi- weekly calls and emails to ****** and **** in the finance department and **** ****** the general manager. Both the insurance company and Neil Huffman confirm the cancellation and the refund amount. Save yourself the headache and DO NOT purchase from this dealership. They will not return phone calls or emails to us to resolve this simple matter. This does not convince us they would handle any other issue any differently. The dealership has the refund $, but will not refund them to us as promised.Business response

I recently had an accident on January 10th 2023. I filed a claim with progressive insurance to have double pairs done to my car. I hit a log in the middle of the highway which blew out the whole bottom of my engine causing me to have to get another engine that was used by Honda dealership ordering. When they replaced the engine in my car after that all the dash signal lights were on which included the ABS tracks traction control, airbag, sensor engine light and more. There was also a ticking noise in the transmission that was bright to their attention at least 10 times or more from February up to now which is September. It has progressively gotten louder overtime & i have addressed This with Honda & progressive insurance both telling me that it was just a normal noise after the accident & It wasn't because I drive this car every day since they gave me an u reliable car trying to male us pay out of pocket for their negligence to where the repairs need to be done. But Honda will not fix this issue all Because insurance does not want to to pay for something that I told them was not right in the beginning before giving the car back and saying it was normal costing us more money than ever. I have been treated unfairly from the beginning telling them what I need and all they do is ignore what I'm telling them making up stuff as if its my fault. So they don't have to pay for these things their steering me away. There were parts that they were trying to get my mom to pay for and repairs that were not done whenever they gave me the car back. All those issues were not that way before. I had the accident on January 10th My wife and mom are a key witness in this matter . My mother is the co owner and me and my wife drive the car daily and have noticed this stuff for a long time to now where my transmission needs hard repairs sounding like rocks in the transmission. I'm very unsatisfied and will sue honda if repairs aren't madeBusiness response
