Paramount Dental advertises its "A recipe for a healthy workforce" on its website as five "ingredients." Ingredient #4 is "Consistent evaluation and cleaning every 6 months." Due to conflicts with periodontal and orthodontic care, my 6-month cleaning in November 2021, was only partially able to be completed. In addition to the several thousand dollars I spent to handle periodontal care, I was facing additional orthodontic care ALL of which is NOT included in Paramount Dental's "recipe." My dental appointment for 2022 was scheduled in May, six months after my partial cleaning in November. Apparently, Paramount Dental is now saying my appointment cannot be in the sixth month period as advertised nationally, but 182.5 days from said appointment. This also invites other issues as dental offices may not have appointments 182.5 days after the appointment due to office work hours/days, weekends, holidays and vacations pushing clients appointments further and further out, and quickly into another month. If Paramount Dental ADVERTISES a SIX-month dental program, then complete payment for a dental appointment should be covered. If Paramount Dental cannot abide by their advertised material, then they should be forced to change their advertising data to agree with terms they have decided to use.Business response

Business Response Thank you for your recent letter. We 100% support the mission of the Better Business Bureau and appreciate the work you do on behalf of consumers. Paramount Dental is committed to providing the highest quality service to all our Members and desires that all individuals covered by our insurance have easy access to plan benefits that promote their oral and overall health. On our website, the posted "Recipe for a Health Smile" document describes an ideal dental plan. This description does not contain or list out any specific benefits included in a specific individual's dental plan. Item #4 describes the recommendation of getting an oral examination and cleaning every 6 months. All of the plans we offer do allow for plan members to get their teeth cleaned at least every 6 months. What was described by Ms. *******, is an example of where a plan member's benefits did not allow for teeth cleanings until exactly 6 months after the last cleaning. We do realize that this can be restrictive and as of July 1st we will allow plan members to go 10 days earlier than their 6 month requirement, giving the plan members more flexibility in using their benefits. We do appreciate the concern and will review the document. Ms. *******'s privacy is protected by HIPAA and without a specific release, we are not allowed to speak to any individual's specific benefit or claims history. We will reach out individually to Ms. ******* and ensure all of her questions are answered. Thank you again for the opportunity to respond. If you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out and we will answer each of your questions. Sincerely, ***** ******* Paramount Dental
