On April 1st, 2024, I purchased a Gen Y Goose Neck Hitch from JIS, Inc (Jasper Industrial Supply) on Amazon. I paid $1580.45, Item received on April 3rd, 2024. On 4/24, I received my RV and had the hitch installed on May 13th, when it was installed my hitch weight indicator was the max line. JIS sold me a product that did not fit the description that I was provided. I asked for return or swap, but JIS decided to just keep my money. I was outside the Amazon return policy by 10 days due to the steps it took to get this all scheduled and installed. The description noted it was a 30,000 tow capacity with a 4500lb Pin weight my RV is 3400LB pin weight. They will not resolve or take responsibility when I was told be an Amazon rep they could return and refund my money It was an online add through Amazon as a third party seller.Business response

Our shipping and return policy with Amazon is clearly stated on our seller profile and available to the consumer at time of purchase. It is as follows:
"JIS INC generally ships Monday through Friday any order placed by 2pm EST the same day. For parcel post items, JIS INC utilizes UPS, FedEx and USPS depending on dimensional weight and location to deliver. JIS INC does not accommodate shipments to PO Boxes. JIS INC offers free shipping, but we do not offer free return shipping. JIS INC will review the return reason and inspect all returns. If it is deemed that the listing is accurate, or an incorrect return reason was used; small parcel returns will be subject to a 20% restocking fee. LTL items will be subject to a 25% restocking fee. If the item returned is not what was originally shipped, has been used, attempted to be installed or not sellable as new; a restocking fee of up to 100% may be charged. We follow Amazon's 30-day return policy and will not accept returns after 30 days. Return shipping cost is the responsibility of the buyer."
It is the responsibility of the buyer to inspect products received for correctness and/or damage. A 30 day window, which is Amazon's policy, is allowed for returns. The customer opted to install the product making it unsellable as new. We offered a return label with the caveat that a restocking fee may be applied if not in new and unused condition. The buyer chose not to send it back. In contacting the manufacturer, they stand by their specifications of the weight limit on this product. The customer is stating it does not meet the specifications with no proof to provide the manufacturer. He has also filed a chargeback claim which, in our experience with Amazon, will be ruled in our favor because we have proof of delivery. The customer is more than welcome to reach out to the manufacturer from a warranty perspective as the product does fall under warranty if the unit is defective even after he installed it. He has chosen not to do that. Rather, he hass chosen to slander our company on social media. We will not respond to his further threats.
